Half Life could be a pretty good horror movie from the point of view of a group of scientists with no weapons training and a couple guards trying to get to the surface.
Think of it, they spot a body with it's chest split open and a headcrab on it, they try not to look at it and it stands up as they pass and grabs one of them

A Half-Life 2 movie from the perspective of the people around Gordon and City 17 would be rather awesome. I always thought a Half-Life movie would work the best if you never actually saw the "free man" and only the repercusssions of his actions. :D
Although to be frank I think what would be even more epic to do as a film would be the 7 hour war.

Only way it'd work is if it wasn't based around Shepperd or any of his crew, seeing as their story is almost entirely player-driven, and undefined.

It is a travesty no one has said World In Conflict yet. That is the only video game that could be translated to movie and still be good. Though it could work as a miniseries.
