You're supposed to yell at it until it falls out.
FYI, fatal wounds can't be fixed, even if you're in a hospital. The only medically fatal wounds are getting stabbed/shot through the heart, or having your brain stem severed.
Thanks, I'll remember this next time someone next to me gets shot.

Jugular artery, liver, stomach
:eng101:
But they are super painful to die from, well stomach is at any rate.
Here's an important little thingies to include.
WHAT TO DO WHEN A CUT OR PUNCTURE OCCURS *Da dadadaaaaaaaaa~*
1. Let it bleed (To prevent infection)
2. Wash it thoroughly with soap and TAP water.
3. Blot dry (Dab repetedly with cloth/towel)
4. Wrap in [Whatever clean cloth you have available]
5. Elevate (To reduce blood flow, but not stop it.)
* Ice couldn't hurt, and is sometimes a good option.
WHAT TO DO WITH 2nd DEGREE BURNS
1. No Ointments kthx (Aloe Vera will make it worse)
2. Place wet cool towels/cloth on the burnt area.
3. Elevate.
4. Treat for shock (because burns arent exactly pleasant)
5. If possible, replace clothing with new and clean clothing.
6. Apply bandage once it has cooled and dried.
* Try not to touch, burns usually stay sore a few days after healing.

Didn't the middle guy kill himself in Full Metal Jacket?

Also, with burns, never use ice, it makes it worse.
Trust me, i did a medical course and learned about treating burns and such and that night i burnt myself on hot water.
Fucking noodles.

Also; noodles can be feisty.
First, if they are unconscious and you don't know EXACTLY what happened, don't try to move them, they could have a spinal injury. Stabalize the head and remember your ABCs. Airway, Breathing and circulation.
Airways. Make sure their airways are not restricted. Tilt their head back by using their chin.
Breathing. Put your ear as short distance from their mouth and nose. Listen for irregular breathing sounds.
Circulation. Check the pulses on all of their extremities. Bluing and coldness are indicative of lack of circulation.
For cuts, etc, you can either apply pressure to the wound to stop the bleeding or use a tournequit.
If you do this and wait for the paramedics, the person should be fine. Beyond this, I really wouldn't suggest doing anything unless you've had proper training.

You do not want to let a wound bleed. Granted you do not want to cram it full of dirt, use a rag or something to stem the bleeding.
You need to clean the wound if it was something dirty that caused it, but prioritizing the stoppage of bleeding is the primary concern with a clean wound.
If it is a small wound you can sometimes let it bleed a bit and it will stop, but you should try to aid its stoppage by blotting with a rag or cloth.
ALSO, never put ice on an open wound. Ice reduces swelling, but it can cause serious pain and effectively does nothing for a flesh wound.
I'm tired and I can't be bothered to go into detail with this at the moment.
I'll post a more detailed thing tomorrow on how to treat gunshot wounds both normally and with everyday stuff you can scavenge.
I just learned all that stuff from the basic package. Apparently that's what you're supposed to do. Give or take a few steps, I have the papers lying around somewhere.
spongebob band-aids, duh

Headphones as tourniquets?
But... How will I listen to Spitfire - The Prodigy when I epicly dash out of the fiery flames with my damsel in distress bravely burning alive?
I saw this thread as a wannabe action hero's guide.
"Make a shitty bandage/torniquet thing that will only make the wound worse because you aren't qualified and then carry them out in some slow motion badass manner with AC/DC playing in the background YEAH!!!"
I'll just wrap my giant penis around it.
I did expect another person asking Doctor Facepunch what he should do about the giant gash in his arm, nice thread though.
Headphones would make a terrible tourniquet, it would break blood vessels because it is so thin.
Take them to a qualified doctor.

No.

What if its your best mate who is a male who got shot? Wouldn't that be a bit awkward the next day?
Well I mean any kind of clean cloth or fabric should staunch the bleeding if you apply pressure
A t-shirt works okay
Please apply pressure to the wound - push the bullet in further!
Damn it Facepunch.
How i learned to stop severe bleeding:
1: Let bleed, helps to clean
2: Wrap in bandage
3: Halfway trough the bandage, put something small like a rock on the wound, and keep bandaging. this will add pressure to the wound and reduce bleeding significantly.
4: Blood coagulates n congratulations you have been awarded additional time.

Whoever taught you that is retarded.
And another tidbit: Apply the tournaquet at least 2-4 inches above joints. Never put on a joint. It's much better to have an amputated leg than to die from a bleedout of a major artery (Corrated, Brachial, Femoral). You can bleed out in as little as 30 seconds.

Sucking Chest Wounds:

Simply when a bullet or even an object pierces your chest cavity punching a hole in your lungs.
If it's an object, leave it, because it will create a natural seal.
For bullet wounds, it's best to stop the bleeding quickly and then seal up the entry wound with any type of plastic or occlusive dressing and the exit wound as well. This will create a suction not allowing air to escape. If left untreated, the lungs can swell up and all that happy horse shit and cause attention phnuemothorax or whatever the fuck you spell it. Basically, your shit swells and crushes your heart, pops more shit inside you, or blocks out your airway.
Oh and put the person lying on their side to minimize them from drowning in their own internal bleeding or chocking on their tongue.
If all else fails, cauterize :v:
The screams will echo down the street!
Supplies needed:
A flat metal object

A fire heat source

and of course:

Should be taken in large quantities before the process.
Just thought I'd mention it :3: Note, it's pretty much exclusively for non-internal wounds. Best used for large amputations when no medical supplies are available.
