Okay so to explain what happend. I built a lava chute shaped like +, with an empty space in the middle going down. It was tottaly contained, not touching wood at all. So I have no fucking clue how it managed to catch the wood on fire.

It wasn't even touching wood. The top had a piece of glass on it aswell to make sure it wouldn't touch wood. It was tottaly contained inside the glass.
