Although the current Healthcare bill does not provide the public option it is a serious enough step in that direction to be important enough to pass. I liked the original bill (the one with the public option, etc.) but this is by no means a bad bill.
Also people complain about how bad taxes are. Oddly enough the United States has the lowest tax rate of any first rate country in the world. So stop complaining about taxes and making it "fair" by standardizing it. Graduated income tax is the best option and our country wouldn't be in such deep shit if taxes were higher.

First off, let me say that Fox News is more than often incorrect and biased, but lately so is everyone else. So as a result, not everyone knows entirely what to think. And so much of this uncertainty has an effect on people, so they feel vulnerable to every shift in power that involves the government.
I think the message the tea party is trying to get across though is that despite over half of the country screaming at the top of their lungs "NO WE DO NOT WANT THIS, FIND A BETTER SOLUTION", the majority of congress decides to vote on passing the bill anyway which is why alot of people feel that they no longer represent the people who elected them in the first place. The system pretty much got divided in two, with rightwing and leftwing lobbyists, with the democrats now having the majority. As a result, when all democrats (except a few individuals) voted in favor of the bill, it got passed. On CSPAN it got to the point where there were literally like 3 guys who didn't vote in the same direction of their own party. And instead of trying to improve upon the bill, the two parties just have their usual squall and ended up attaching probably a whole mess of undesired effects to the bill.
As a result, alot of people were not satisfied with this outcome, and were sick of the same shit happening again and again in a cycle with the same politics, which is probably the reason why the tea party was formed. Alot of these people, are AVERAGE Americans, so they will not always know the best way of expressing their opinions, they do not have professional writers, teleprompters, lawyers or Public Relations managers to monitor what they say. So each of their opinions may vary or be highly disorganized. They are still all INDIVIDUALS, not everything they say may be correct or PC (politically correct). But not everyone is stupid as this.
I will admit, I'm not at all familiar with what the hell is going on, but that's probably the problem in itself, nobody in America knows wtf is going on behind closed doors except for those who have been there or have done ALOT of research in their free time. We are only human, it is in our nature to assume that only bad things can come from what is intentionally hidden from us.
Now politicians are aware of this and are trying to create an illusion of transparency and bipartisanship, but in reality we all know that they haven't changed a bit. This will only give people more of a reason to distrust the leaders of this nation. I don't know wherever you guys are living, but the amount of tension over here is thick enough to stop a train.

Most of them don't even know what Obama has done. I'm not basing my opinion off of this video, which was clearly showing the worst of the idiots in this tea party movement, I have talked to practically all the Republicans I know, and you rarely find any depth in their arguments at all. Mostly it consists of the communist socialist tyrranistic Obama magically destroying America, but when it comes down to the why and how they just keep repeating the first line.
This video just makes me sad. Sad that so many people can be so uneducated when it comes to today's government and issues. These videos make me cringe. Because even if it focused on the worst of the party, those people still exist. The people who declare Fox unbiased and the only factual news station, the Obama haters with no method to their madness. It's rather depressing to know that this level of ignorance is possible.
If you want examples of things I believe where good from Obama, I can list a few off the top of my head. For one, I did want universal health care pushed through. I don't care if it is taken out of my wallet in minor increments through taxes, I want everyone to have the chance to have health care. When you let the value of human life fall under the amount of taxes you want to owe, I find that rather immoral. He closed Guantanamo. He is actually conversing with the rest of the world in a cool, intellectual, and peaceful manor. He has worked with Russia to reduce nuclear weapons. He has done good things in his time in office, and the tea party anger is in no way justified from where I stand.
