Saddest picture of the century-vulture waiting for a child to die

Seeing stuff like this breaks my heart.
This is kind of old.
He spent 20 minutes setting up the shot.
What a fucker.

art precedes essence.
a picture lasts forever. a child does not.
The end justifies the means?
nothing can be justified.
Lol @ all the people going "He was such a cold man"
He could do nothing to help her.
Eating at such a point, or even drinking, will cause excruciating pain, leading up to a much more painful death.
As harsh as it seemed, just leaving her there was probably the safest (For him) and most humane (For her) thing to do.
Tasty
Well, yeah, he just took a photo of the dieing child.
but he didnt feel good about it, as he committed suicide due to depression 3 months later.
I felt absolutely no emotion when I saw it.

you're a monster.
I may be devoid of morality, but I at least can feel.
even if it makes me feel empty.
The photo empowered people to save more lives than he may have by not taking it and helping the child
Utilitarian? Definitely, heartless? Possibly
darwin award.
Why? The Darwin Award is when someone gets killed due to their incredibly massive stupidity.

You realize your statement contradicts itself right?
I felt absolutely no emotion when I saw it.
you have no heart

If I had raised a child of my own, starved him in the desert, slathered his skin black, and attracted a vulture to pose for my photo, I could achieve a photo of the same result
And it would still be utilitarian because the empowering effect of it would be greater than any one life.
Why did I laugh

it doesn't.
I cannot justify any morality except on the basis of axioms such as "god's word", "pleasure is good and should be universalized", etc.
But I still feel sadness when one person is hurt.
Why did I laugh
You were laughing at the irony of the situation.
Nothing wrong there.
The photographer that took this actually killed himself because he wished he would've helped the child.

Really?? gosh why didnt the picture say that....ohh wait
-snip-
Dont really see why seeing this shocks people so much, I mean its happening all the time....Its happening right now.
Just gotta deal with it.
I find it retarded that the photographer didn't help the kid. What was he thinking?

Yes but even though it's happening right now most people dont know about it.
Most of us are raised in a normal town were food and water are easily obtained and we never see death or starvation as a problem until we get older. It's not shocking that people are saddened by this picture
Thats good eatin'
I find it retarded that the photographer didn't help the kid. What was he thinking?
He was thinking that it doesnt matter even if he did try help the kid, the kid was going to die. Getting to that state pretty much means certain death for you.

Morality is subjective to a person or culture, in other words you do have morality, now stop being angsty.

by your limited definition, so does a bird.
please elaborate.
by your limited definition, so does a bird.

The definition is pretty damn broad, what I'm saying is that all humans have morality.
sadder thing is he didn't help the child, and wanted to take the picture instead.
The person who took the foto wanted to help but wasent aloud
its old pic
The definition is pretty damn broad, what I'm saying is that all humans have morality.
if all humans have morality, and two humans beings can have morality systems that are polar opposites of each other, then your concept of "human beings having morality" is meaningless since it defines nothing at all.
