Gundam spoilers[sp]So does that mean the romantic story element is going to be that the LI is going to have the guy she is into die and then settle on you at the end of the game. [/sp]:v:
I think they'll go with the original and just punch people in the face all the time who are your sole hope for survival. Its also somewhat like macross, basically just a single ship running a guerialla war against the enemy until Earth can prepare
It's pretty much Killzone. Though with more colours and less backstory it seems.
I thought the same thing too but the line about raising the "black flag and start cutting some throats" makes it seem like it's a really long war in which Earth loses and you're using the last remaining ships to become space privateers and mount an insurgency. Although that would make for a long game and CODs are always 6 hours long
[t]http://i.imgur.com/jhifUw2.jpg[/t] Conor McGregor is that guy who punches the Player Character in the face Also, the story of space separatists attacking Earth and a young lieutenant becoming the acting Captain of the sole important space ship seem to be inspried by the original Gundam series
I hear Gundam and got hyped for no reason thinking that Infinite Warfare would actually have us pilot a giant mech. Thankfully we have Titanfall 2 for that. Still, I'm getting more excited for this than I did with Black Ops 2, which was one of my favorite CoD game 2nd being Advanced Warfare 2.
First time i've been excited for a Call of Duty release since United Offensive. I like that it's full-on scifi now.
their explosions still look terrible but that facial mocap is damn good
Personally, I'm quite stoked for this, especially if the more free-form campaign style they've hinted at in this game (choosing your missions as the captain, taking the Retribution around the system, etc.) pans out. Being a rogue space warship's captain is a pretty interesting gameplay concept IMO, at least for a COD game. That and the guns and combat robotics units in the game are really good in terms of visual design IMO. (An example being some of the larger, tankier robots having weapons integrated into their "heads", while the smaller infantry droids have reinforced strike-plate-like parts on their "faces" and front sections)
that scene at 1:58 with the ship falling through the clouds reminds me of that one matrix revolutions scene
that scene at 1:58 with the ship falling through the clouds reminds me of that one matrix revolutions scene
I have a sneaking suspicion (due to the large cloud structures and the color of the atmosphere in the background) that the scene at 1:58 takes place either on Titan or in the upper layers of Jupiter or Saturn, or (perhaps at more of a stretch due to the hellish conditions there), Venus. I do really like how it seems that IW's version of a colonized solar system seems to have plenty of locales, since this trailer alone's shown an industrializing Mars, the Moon, Europa, Titan, seemingly 1-3 other terrestrial bodies, space and air combat scenarios (a brief clip pops up showing a player-controlled dogfight in a planet's atmosphere), and of course, ship-to-ship combat. One of the MP maps revealed so far is also on a massive ring station (a la Elysium, with a fully-developed+terraformed inner ring surface) habitat in LEO, so perhaps we'll get to visit that in SP as well?
Why did they have to go and make their dropships look like Halo pelicans, and the four wheel vehicles have vague similarities to Warthogs. Otherwise, looks great. Though I do hate the fact I have to be on the opposite team as Jon Snow, but if he were anyone else but the protagonist then he would steal away the show. Hell, he'll probably do that anyway.

Hell, he'll probably do that anyway.
Ehh, the generic look of sci-fi "dropships" is something that was really originally established anyways with Alien and the Colonial Marines' dropship in that franchise, so technically Pelicans are imitative in some ways themselves. Personally, I feel like the vehicles in IW's trailers make sense visually and to some degree from an engineering perspective (save for clearly fictional stuff like black hole generators, FTL, etc.), since the dropships definitely have some aspects of current spaceplane design concepts tied into them, and it's kinda hard to not make really well-designed 4x4 armored trucks look somewhat similar out of pure "form follows function" factors. I do think Pelicans actually have LESS thrusters on them than the IW ships do, though I may be mistaken.
Claudia Black.
It sounds like her, It should be hilarious to hear her lines in this as they were gold in gears of war 3.
Why did they have to go and make their dropships look like Halo pelicans, and the four wheel vehicles have vague similarities to Warthogs.
Well they didn't bother with the story and have gone with a really-really generic one, popularized in gaming by Killzone. So why would they go an extra mile to invent fresh designs? Generic space warships, generic soldier dudes, generic humanoid robots. Call of Duty is the definition of "Safe approach". But from the trailers, it looks exactly as spectacular as I've come to expect from Call of Duty.

Activision really needs to just drop the Call Of Duty title and release this as a different franchise. Doesn't even look very "Call Of Duty" anymore imo.
Damn, some of those set pieces look amazing like the ship crashing into the water
the setpieces and cinematics are my favourite part of the CoD campaigns, i'd watch whole films done in that sort of way
This seems kinda like Killzone 1 a bit to me Imho. More keen on COD4 remaster.
halo, is that you?

I'm always baffled what they can do with such a cobbled together piece of shit engine they're still using, AW had amazing looking cutscenes, but on the other hand Multiplayer still has all the engine issues it had back in Black Ops 1.
I play CoD for the single player and I'm hyped as hell for this one, you better believe it.

But is there actually any downside directly attributed to the fact? Just curious. Also out of all the Cod games you used as an example it's funny you picked Advanced Warfare because it's engine is actually built from scratch. Although Sledgehammer did say themselves that some code was reused from the IWengine.
but Source is a quake based engine and look how great that is
the problem with their engine is that it hasnt really advanced at all in a shitload of years. it looks better but thats basically it. I mean waw had vehicles but they took that out, and its why people say cod feels the same every year: because it does. its the exact same 6v6 on their small maps. compared to battlefield, its very much a barebones game. and I feel like this isnt really even a problem with their engine, its just a problem with how they make the game. im sure they could support more players and vehicles and bigger maps, but they never do.

You can tell who the bad guy is because he has a facial scar, a foreign accent and a gravelly voice.

Battlefield is a different genre of FPS.
