It's not trying to fly in. I had this happen to me also. The bird sees its reflection and thinks it's another bird, so it attacks the window. The bird must have a nest that it's protecting near by.

sounds terribly hard, do you know how long it takes before the portal reaches the moon? Plus the moon moves, so it would be a very very difficult target.
a better idea would be to put a portal on your window, and a portal somewhere above the window, so it will never smash into your window and it will safely fly away.
Put bug screens on the windows, it wont make a clunk sound and probably wont be to bad for it.
