But if nothing happens, what will you feel?
You answered your own question.
Nothing.
I used to think that the soul of all living things are actually one entity in the forth dimension and each soul is basically a reincarnation of the entity. I mentioned the Fourth dimension because the entity isn't restricted by time and therefore able to reincarnate at any time giving it the illusion that there's many individual souls. With this theory of mine, karma would work flawlessly.
P.s I thought up all of this when I was 13.
A nice sleep/dream like state
No body knows what it is like and I'd feel foolish to make a statement saying otherwise.
the after life or as the spanish people like to call it Chupa Mi Pinga is an odd topic because of faith but i personally believe that there is nothing but i hope we become ghosts taht would rule
If you follow protestant faith, you go to heaven.

yeah, it is hard to discuss with a lot of people. Ghosts are pretty cool hahaha i agree :)
From a subjective viewpoint, I really don't know what's going to happen to us when we die. My heart believes in heaven, but my head isn't so sure. There's no way to know without actually dying. If life continues after death, that's great, but if it doesn't, that's fine too. I was dead a long time before I was born, so if I cease to exist when I die, then I will have come full circle, and that's okay.
I'm just worried about being prepared for death. I want to lie down on my deathbed (if I'm so lucky) as the man that I want to be, the best fulfillment of my potential. Of course, that probably won't happen, but it's a good goal, right?
Run-on sentences FTW
Reincarnation. I plan to come back as a wombat.
Wow, a mod needs to close this right away. I'm sure there's already a flame-war going on as we speak.
I think this is in the rules: NEVER, EVER MAKE A FUCKING RELIGION TOPIC! EVER!
I don't believe in the after life, or reincarnation, so death freightens me. It makes me feel like my life is a game and that I'm wasting it, so knowing I won't effect the world in a major way raises the question if my life is worth anything. Then after thinking about this I go play videogames or watch tv so my life is sort of "paused" by me not having to do anything.

Your life is like Modern Warfare 3...it looks fine on the outside, but you realize on the inside it's the same old boring shit.

Heaven doesn't exist though, at least I'm pretty sure it doesn't as we have no physical evidence, and besides, how do we know protestantism is the correct faith out of all of them? It doesn't add up.

But Magistrate, God's Kingdom can't be seen or proven cause we are being tested. Our faith will bring us to an incomprehensible paradise.

it's the one bet I'm willing to take.

Who is testing us, an imaginary man in the sky? Seriously, what do you mean?
Hey guys did you know that there's this fancy new thing called MASS DEBATE.
It is used to debate things like this so that the other sections don't get shitted up with arguments.
Can a mod please move this thread to there.
I want to be a ghost that can do everything a human can.
you know those thumps next door?Ghost sex
@ SergeantDead and Magistrate, beleive me, God is hard to believe in. In all honesty - it's a nutty concept! A big man in the clouds who grants eternal salvation after you die and all. But in all of the holy tomes, the Bible is the one tome that is the most consistent. All of the accounts in The Bible match up with each other. Miracles can happen. You just need to accept them, and the Lord will reward.

How can we be so sure the bible is a valid text though? I mean like.... who wrote it and stuff, what made them so good?
@ Mag and Sgt. again, lol:
Well the old testament is kind of jewish and talks about the real history of the universe, but a lot of it comes from people who were there at the time. The people who followed and saw the miracles, rewards, and consequences of loving God. It really broadly shows the humility you must face in life while serving and loving God. But Jesus came to Earth to show us that no matter what is on Earth, Heaven will be at least millions of times better. Access to God's Kingdom is worth more than anything on Earth.

And how exactly does some access God's kingdom? Following the bible? ??
It starts with accepting Him as your Lord and Savior. He runs the show because His light has been cast upon us. Simply saying "I love you Lord," is a start. From there, simply understanding The Bible and The Lord's ways through Church will "save you a spot" in God's Kingdom lol.

In my upbringing when I did not go to church my mother (Who is of hispanic nationality) would call me a puta which is hispanic for he who has lost faith, how many "putas" do you think had faith in the first place?
Is there proof of this heaven?? Is there proof of the existence of God?? Here's a picture:

I think it describes this well. Religious people are just ignorant and don't think rationally. It's the truth and you can't deny it.
Sgt., that's exactly it! It's so beautiful! The fact that we can't "prove" the existence gives us more of a reason to worship? OK let's say I'm wrong. I wouldn't feel like I've wasted my life loving Someone. But if I'm right? I get to live happily for eternity. Simple as that.

I'll be honest with you, I grew up in a Catholic school by aethist parents, it was a troubled upbringing. I really wanted to be a part of Christianity but was forced out by my mother... In grade 9 I finally got fed up and told her straight in her face, you can't force me not to believe in God. Since then I've felt a bit disconnected, there seem to be so many flaws in Christianity...

It's hard to say (IMO), that you start with faith. If u think about it, I wouldn't have found God without my mother and father. It's totally reasonable to become a puta, but I think just sticking with it is SO worth it.
You're not even arguing with me. Are you scared of the truth? Watch a Carl Sagan video. He can explain things better than I can. Just do it. Maybe he can make you think rationally for a change.
I'm sorry, but how are you so certain that a god entity doesn't exist? How can anyone be sure of their belief or non-belief in deities?
Anyhow, we should probably stop debating this. This thread is about people's beliefs in the afterlife, not the existence of God.

It's like trying to play soccer on a baseball field, you know? I think the benefits outweigh the negatives with being a protestant, no matter what. Your faith will guide you. Eventually you will be able to play soccer in your own field, or come to terms with your parents. But connections are so important.

Exactly, thank you man. I'm seriously considering getting baptized and going to Mass this sunday, push away the ignorance my atheist parents forced on me. Thank you.
If there is evidence against a thing existing, and a lack of evidence proving that that thing exists, then it is safe to assume that the thing doesn't exist. Imagine if I told you that there was an ethereal penis hitting you across the face. You have evidence against the existence of said penis, correct? You can't feel it and are not reacting to it. On the other hand, all I have is my word. Would you believe the penis exists, or would you not?
Dude what the fuck is wrong with you? Why are you acting so rude and condescending? Are all atheists like this?
Really? You're going down that easily? You're just rebelling against your parents. There is no rational reason for you to believe in God.
Is there a rational reason for you to be such a dogmatic individual?
