I'm gonna have to agree with mag here (despite his swearing). Sgt. is starting to piss me the HECK off. I thought that I could come in here and discuss, but it's only in vain.

I used to be completely and utterly terrified o' death, especially since I was (sorta) raised atheist, but now I've come to accept it as a fact of life thats pointless to be afraid of. No afterlife and I hope by the time i'm old we have found great way to slow aging so while even though I will have to die eventually, maybe I can live for a million years. I would be happy with that.

The truly rational path is agnosticism because as of now, we don't have the means to prove or disprove the existence of a higher power. That goes for the afterlife, too.

Not believing in a claim but not taking out the possibility of it until it is proven is the most logical way to look at any claim.

Not because it doesn't exist, but because proof cannot show itself to us in the proper manner. The exact reason why evolution is a popular theory. There's no evidence to disprove it, nor is there any solid conclusive evidence to prove it. Also, on the subject of evidence towards a theory, basic science also teaches that new evidence can crop up and destroy theories, or further prove it. In every single community, no one will attest to God's existence or lack of existence, simply because there is no 100% way to prove something and have it stay proven. Also, the ethereal penis could in fact exist, regardless of whether or not I can feel/see it.
