As much as I hate SOPA, you aren't getting my money!
people are silly if they think completely removing sopa from this planet will remove the problem
guess what. if sopa and all those other acts get stopped it changes jack shit. everyone who wrote those bills and everyone who supported them still has their jobs and still has their money. give it another 2 years and we'll have another sopa-esque crisis. you don't have to look back far in history to see the last time this happened (hint: 2008, DMCA, PRO-IP. 2011 ACTA)
And everyone who opposed the bill still have their jobs and money. Sure, people will try again with a similar bill sometime in the future, but this was a significant win.
Well my title can change now.
Also it was amazing to be part of this movement and stand up to stifling of free speech and innovation
Now to stop ACTA and every other censorship bill they will throw out in the next few months
yes but acta will be voted the 26th january, so we dont have mush time... :I

Lamar just got a new way to control us. "Protecting children from internet pornographers act 2011" It forces internet providers to store a copy your internet history for at least a year. *sigh*

Though it will never get passed if the ISPs can get a word in - it will take up so much storage.
also, fourth amendment.
Good, but I'm sure it will rise again to some sort of mutated form that will be even worse.

Does ACTA apply to the US?
It's unconstitutional...
Ha, I remember ACTA.
Postponed, not stopped.
well there always gonna keep trying, but sopa/pipa is defeated
Now, I haven't read that PCPA thing you guys talk about and I don't really know what it does, but "Protect children from pornography"
I always thought that was a bullshit sentence
Porn doesn't "hurt" children as long as you EXPLAIN it to them, and as long as it isn't weird fetish shit
If they want their children not to think all breasts look like that, why don't we just allow all women to go topless over the street?
Sounds like a win-win situation
I mean, free tits for all!
SOPA / PIPA will be back. All they're going to do is change a few things to seem more leneant for people, and that'll be where it stands. No sense crying about how unfair / unjust it is, because eventually some sort of thing will happen. Even if SOPA ever passed, I HIGHLY doubt they're willing to dedicate more money to hiring people to take down these sites. Only high-profile sites in the U.S. will really be affected.

I'm sorry, but I can't stand listening to this guy. Not because of his voice, but there are these small sounds he keeps making that just irritate the living shit out of me.

No we didn't, even without SOPA they killed half the net's filesharing sites already.
