in the 10th grade this girl sent a picture to a football player of her naked and the picture got circulated around the entire school. so i guess i went to highschool with a bunch of pedophiles.

Things like this are really stupid. I live in PA and some guy in their mid 20's had sex with a girl that was 17 and the next day was going to be 18. The parents found out and he is now considered a sexual predator. But if you want to be technical, PA has a 4-year underage difference (so I've heard) and while she was still 17 and he was in his mid 20's it would still be considered illegal. If I were you I wouldn't worry too much. You are both the same age and if you've known her for 4-5 years and you are good friends with her I doubt nothing bad will happen. Just don't send them to anyone else!
