I like to imagine something like the Dwemer ruins existing on Mars. Maybe any civilization that had existed there might be similar: Possible for us to relate to, but still beyond our understanding.
Water? Yes
Life? Yes.
Civilization? No.
Is it possible that any of those really odd geographic anomalies (like Olympus Mons and that thing (forgotten what it was called) that stretched so far across the planet that half of it was caught in the night and half in the day) could have anything to do with any sort of civilizations? Not, like, built by them, obviously, but perhaps had something to do with whatever most probably removed them.
