The size of this forum demands harsh, deliberate action to maintain order. Last I checked a forum isn't run on "democracy", not a forum this big at least.
It's really easy to be an idiot here but it's also really easy to NOT be an idiot here. We don't have a rule list for a reason because it's half expected that the typical FP user will actually use their pea-sized brain and not act like a fool.
Think first, act second. You yourself OP feel like this thread will be banned, well why did you bother to create it anyway if you know the consequences? You deserve to be banned because you're deliberately breaking the rules. Seems fair to me.
This forum is loosely based on "Be a dumbass be reprimanded".
If you want to know why Facepunch isn't run democratically, just imagine the person you hate most of all on FP.
Now imagine that person has just as much say in how the forum is run as you do.
Intelligence plays a major roll in how the forum works. Idiots tend to get banned, whereas people who actually contribute in and out of the forum are recognized.

Those are what we FP'ers like to call "Idiot Culls". They are made only to get idiots banned. If the lead admin makes a thread thats titled "POST IN HERE TO GET PERMA'D" and you post in it anyways, you deserve to get perma'd.

Rarely
You get banned if you speak out against the mods because most people who do so make asses of themselves in the process. Call it mod sass or whatever, it's only appropriate that it's terms for being banned. The mods will take constructive criticism but they don't need to. They were made moderator because they've been around long enough to do the job right.
Idiot culls and Hezzy threads in general serve their purpose as well.
It's kind of like a democracy. The awesome people are the MPs, and get self elected to become moderators by being awesome, and they represent your interests :3:

If I studied right back in 10th grade social studies, democracy is the rule by the people. You know everything is majority rule and is not limited to giving power to the idiots, sounds great right?
Really, Facepunch seems to be more of a republic to me. In republics it is the rule by law. Simply you follow the rules or you'll get punished. In Facepunch this translates to using common sense, to contribute with purpose, and not be an asshole.

It's a Dictatorship like all forums because it is garry's he can do what he likes.
he and the admin/mod do listen to pm/threads because they are nice guys but it is still a dictatorship. a dictatorship is ruled by a Dictator facepunch has one named garry and he can Dictat what he likes as law.
