One thing I realized about FP a long time ago, is that the only rule is to use common sense.
If anything, I'd make the ban-rules even stricter, which is kinda funny being that I used to hate how people got banned all the time. Mods are a bit inefficient at times, but only one of them annoys me, the others do a fairly good job.
It's more authoritarian if anything, but it's not nearly as strict or "unfair" when I first joined or when I lurked before then.

Actually it's a semi dictatorship / autocracy with a bit of democracy. Garry is the dictator, can do whatever he want. His admins are the governors, but most are professionals choosen by garry himself. It's the autocracy part. Sometimes we may vote for admins in a section, that's democratic.

You may have noticed that Greeman and TH89 are two different people.
If you count moderators, it's an oligarchy, but really it's an autocracy.
Moderator harshness used to be ten times worse [highlight]and[/highlight] we had autoban.
