I did a double take :v:
I'm voting for Green. I know there's no chance we're going to hold a majority, but I want to stick by my guns and vote for who I believe in. If everybody votes tactical you're not going to get anywhere.
Even if it is 'worthless' because of the FPTP system, it's always a damn sight better than sitting at home not voting.
I'd vote Green probably, but I'm in Bolton West where I expect a swing to UKIP away from the Tories, so I'm going to Vote Labour to try and stop anything mental happening. (I know it won't happen more than likely, but I'd kick myself if UKIP got a substantial portion of the vote and I'd voted Green)
. Nor do I want a party that is trying to privatise the NHS
So yeah, Labour got my vote today based on that and what that website said where I stood.
But most of the NHS privatisation was done by Labour, not to mention that only 6% of total NHS services are privatised and the reason it was done was to invest more money in the NHS without raising taxes.
Went to my polling station around 10:30, there was a Labour campaigner and and SNP campaigner sat outside the school sharing a flask of tea and chatting about the football.
Anyone going to be pulling an all-nighter to watch the count? I'm on my flat alone tonight so I'll be getting a takeaway and some beers, putting BBC scotland on the TV and BBC UK on my laptop to watch the results as they come in.
Also the BBC Scotland building (round the corner from where I live) will be projecting live results onto the building throughout the night. May go a take a gander at that at some point.
I'm still not 100% sure on who to vote for
My heart says green but head says SNP
God there is no one to vote for in Mid Ulster.
I'm torn between Alliance & spoiling my ballot.
Some people on Twitter talking up high, possibly record turnout figures for the election. Would be nice if they are right.
tbh the biggest issue I care mostly about is the NHS.. and labour's manifesto just doesn't cut it.
Nobody here really talks about the NHS but there are some real messed up staffing issues and these absurd A&E targets which are impossible to meet.
I'd like Egg Miliband to walk into an A&E around new years time when about 50 people are waiting and tell me what he'd do.
[editline]7th May 2015[/editline]
and this doesn't count the extra 20 which have actual medical emergencies.
isn't this top priority for people?
The literal only thing britain is proud about.
Well I cast my first vote. Feels somewhat good, in a small way. Gonna stay up late and follow the counting through!
snip!

My girlfriend's mum used to be an NHS accountant.
She told me we don't have to worry about the NHS being privatised because no private firm is stupid enough to take on a contract with them. :v:

Just got back from voting. Cue Starship Troopers "I'm Doing my Part" scene.

Just caught this on Twitter, probably one of the best bit of Wikipedia Vandalism I've seen in a while.

felt good, I'm glad

Dunno if I'll stay up all night though.
I'm going to try and watch as much as I possibly can of the election coverage on BBC One but I've got to bear in mind I've been up since six already and have college again tomorrow.
Voted labour on both local and parliamentary. First ever vote.
Didn't realize you could vote twice on the local one though or I'd have put green down as well locally. Guess it's a thing to remember for next time.
Voted labour here, just have to hope they hold against the SNP in this seat.
First time voting in GE too.

This is a shit quiz mate. It was made by a bunch of guys who got upset with Labour after 97 so they deliberately made it so that it counted Labour as "authoritarian rightwing".
Most of the questions on it are pretty shit as well.
I live in a safe Labour area, but it looks like the SNP are going to be kicking them in the balls. I added a bit to that kicking
How likely is it that Cleggers will be kicked out this election?
I'd like to vote lib dem, but I don't like the idea of Clegg being in charge.

I thought this too, they are the party that appeals to me most through policy but I have no confidence in them to hold their policies after Clegg.
And great job everyone who voted, no matter what you voted for. The important thing is that you cared.

That's not the issue I was pointing out.
Look in detail of the tory policies for the NHS, they actually really care about the specifics than just budgeting.
Labour looks only at money and waiting time crap.
[editline]7th May 2015[/editline]
i went on the labour page and straight away it's "OI MATE, U WAITING LONG IN A&E?"
Out of this election I have more respect for the UKIP candidates than I do for the others. I didn't vote UKIP, but the UKIP electorate was the only one to offer to come to my house and personally sit with me over a cup of tea to talk about what they do. The UKIP "helpers" are far more busy out on the streets, and I mean far busier, and they're always battling abuse everywhere they go, and they either look really sad about it (It wasn't nice to see), or say "and you're entitled to that opinion because thankfully we live in a democracy, good day!".
I'm not saying I agree with all their policies or that I voted for them, I didn't, but I couldn't help but notice and to be fair they should be proud of themselves (the people doing all the legwork locally)

Yeah UKIP got turned into a joke.
I don't personally believe in the party and wouldn't vote for them, but the UKIP smear campaign got a bit out of control.

http://nhsconfed.org/health-topics/general-election/conservative-party-pledges
compare the policies and tell me which is actually more realistic.
The amount of waffle in the Labour NHS manifesto is amazing.
The things I care about, refining costs... not just throwing billions into the NHS without anything being refined.
"Paperless NHS by 2016"
Wow that's actually a fucking great target that is actually realistic and I can see it happening.
"Guarantee GP appointments within 48 hours and cancer tests results within one week."
This definitely will not happen.

UKIP had a better NHS policy than labour...
http://nhsconfed.org/health-topics/general-election/uk-independence-party-plans
"Waive university tuition fees for new medical students who work in Britain for five years after qualifying."
for goodness sake that's an actual good idea.
most medical students spend a load to study here then bugger off to Dubai earning £200k.
Exit Poll:
CON: 316
LAB: 239
SNP: 58
LD: 10
PC: 4
GRN: 2
UKIP: 2
Anyone who wanted a Labour Government without voting Labour - good luck :v:
Labour are so screwed. Even with SNP and LIB Dem coalition, which won't happen, they will never get majority.
Can't wait for the final result.
Either the exit poll is way the fuck out, or pretty much everyone who tried to predict the election is way the fuck out
Dis gon b gud
Looking more likely that we'll get more Cameron? Ugh
