UKIP have been causing a ruckus near me again, they set up shop across from Labour and shout abuse at them. I'm working in elections BTW so if you have any questions I'll try my best to answer them.
Voting Labour.
As an outsider who only see's the general media coverage, why are people going to vote for ukip?
The tuition fees that Labour introduced. Oops. We usually forget about that.
You can't get a load of people to vote you into office on a flagship policy promising to vote against something then turn around in office, whilst also campaigning on being the party to end lies in politics, then go back on it and not expect a backlash. It did a massive amount of damage to a lot of people's belief in british democracy and tbh Clegg should have resigned over it.
If you haven't registered to vote yet, ya blew it. You won't be able to vote in the election.
Labour feelin good, Miliband's personal ratings are rising http://ukpollingreport.co.uk/blog/archives/9364 Also May2015.com says Miliband is now more likely to be the next PM http://may2015.com/featured/election-2015-polls-suggest-ed-miliband-is-likely-to-become-prime-minister/
Milliband has really got a lot better since the campaign began. The negative Tory campaign has largely worked in his favour, too. LAB & CON still largely deadlocked in the polls, though. Except this one :v:
Always found it interesting that Labour have all their seats around cities, whereas the conservatives own the majority in the countryside.
Even if the Tories get the most seats, it's difficult to see how they'd reach a majority if the seat forecasts are accurate. Getting the Lib Dems on board again would be essential, but it wouldn't be enough. UKIP and the DUP will only get a handful of seats each, and even with all three they might not reach 326. Labour on the other hand can go with the SNP, maybe throw in the Lib Dems as well and get to 326 comparatively easily.
Always found it interesting that Labour have all their seats around cities, whereas the conservatives own the majority in the countryside.
Why? Generally speaking poorer people live in cities and need more state support to supplement their low incomes therefore they vote Labour. Whilst generally speaking the middle class and the well-off tend to live in the countryside or in the suburbs and don't need as much state support and would rather have lower taxes and so they vote Conservative.
Labour on the other hand can go with the SNP, maybe throw in the Lib Dems as well and get to 326 comparatively easily.
Except the Lib Dems said that they wouldn't go into any arrangement with the SNP whether it be coalition or Confidence and Supply.
As an outsider who only see's the general media coverage, why are people going to vote for ukip?
I've heard people are going for a spiting vote, it could be that they're just euroskeptics and want to get out of the EU, hell maybe they're just plain old racist and seem to think that immigrants can just waltz in and steal our jerbs and our NHS.

It's just seeing it in picture format shows how true that is.
Except the Lib Dems said that they wouldn't go into any arrangement with the SNP whether it be coalition or Confidence and Supply.
Source? I haven't heard about that
I feel like I am the only one in this thread that is voting Conservative.
I feel like I am the only one in this thread that is voting Conservative.
I'm voting Conservative.

I'm sure you know that being voted into office, commitments made in manifestos have to be fulfilled - the people have already affirmed their support for policies by virtue of their candidacy vote. Really shot himself and his party in the foot, it's decisions like that which can kill off a party. He's going to have to show some steadfast leadership following this election. It'd be political suicide for the LibDems to get rid of him though, there'll be a massive loss of confidence in the party. I hope the LibDems can get back on track, though, I think the more diverse options people have to vote for the better.
Here's a picture of two guys rolling a log. Notice how the guy to the left has dark hair, and the guy on the right has light hair, BUT also a hat. May the best man win (except it takes both of them to keep up this charade in order for the game to succeed).
plain old racist

think that immigrants can just waltz in and steal our jerbs and our NHS
I don't think you know what racism means??
If you wanted to have a postal vote that opportunity has passed, the deadline was 5pm today. Only option left for an absent vote is a Proxy and the deadline for that is the 28th.
I'm going to go Plaid Cymru on this one.
I feel like I am the only one in this thread that is voting Conservative.
Fear not.
I really want to see a Labour/SNP/Lib Dem/Green/Plaid Cymru coalition just to see the looks on the faces of all the people in my school, all of whom would vote conservative/UKIP if we weren't 17. [editline]22nd April 2015[/editline]
Millions of public sector workers would be spared pay cuts under Liberal Democrat plans, Nick Clegg has said. Mr Clegg said pay should rise in real terms for two years from 2016, and then by more than inflation once the deficit has been dealt with. He said public sector workers had "made enough sacrifices" and it was time to end "the era of pay restraint".
welp, all public server workers should expect minimum wage after the election :v:
I assume most of the UKIP votes in the poll are jokes. :v: It's funny how I've heard of a lot of people in England saying they wish they could vote for Nicola Sturgeon. Fingers crossed for a Labour/SNP government - personally if I had to choose one party I'd be split between SNP and the Lib Dems. I feel sorry for the Lib Dems a bit cause they were sort of forced into breaking their promise on tuition fees and it's really fucked them over even though they mostly stand for pretty fair policies.
I found this article both humorous and informative in equal measure: http://www.newstatesman.com/politics/2015/04/simulection-what-happens-when-you-run-2015-lib-dem-manifesto-through-video-game This rather self defeating poll on trustability of public figures also paints a rather sad/comedic picture of public opinion: https://www.ipsos-mori.com/Assets/Docs/Polls/Veracity%20Index%202014%20topline.pdf Check the "Pollsters" score...
I assume most of the UKIP votes in the poll are jokes. :v:
You'd be surprised
I'm probably going to be voting Green, but since Scotland looks set for an SNP steamroll I suppose my vote won't count for much. Apparently though a growing number of people are arranging vote swaps: getting someone in a constituency where your preferred party has a better chance to vote in exchange for you doing the same for them. [editline]24th April 2015[/editline] Also just for shits and giggles I plugged the results of the FP poll into May2015.com's seat calculator. I turned each number of votes into a percentage (subtracting the 5 SNP votes when calculating for England/Wales): It's a Labour majority, though it's interesting to see that even though Greens would technically have a larger share of the vote than Conservative, they'd still only have the one seat.
Natalie Bennett's voice irritates me tbh
Green party just used the "are you kidding me" mee mee face on their Facebook page in an effort to get with da kidz. Why you gotta hurt me like this Green
christ the SNP with even more power here would be a headache. they're going to press the independence thing even harder
christ the SNP with even more power here would be a headache. they're going to press the independence thing even harder
good :v:
good :v:
The referendum was already done though, and the results were pretty clear. They shouldn't press it just a few months after people voted not to leave.
