So basically the UK voted nationalistic?
Voted centre-right basically.
So basically the UK voted nationalistic?
Broadly, if you want to call UKIP the "nationalist" party in England, then 3.7million or 12~% at current voted for them.
The Scottish voted for the Scottish Nationalist Party yes, overwhelmingly.
However, the largest proportion of votes are for Labour and the Conservatives, neither or which you'd really paint as "nationalists" in that sense.
This is when Al Murray wins South Thanet.

Overall I'm disappointed in the UK result, but pretty thrilled at the Scottish result. However I feel like it only compounds the idea that Scotland and England are blatantly politically incompatible. I'm looking forward to seeing how the political scene (both in Scotland and the rest of the UK) develops in the future, I can only hope for positive change throughout.
I'm saddened to see another election in which the outcome wouldn't have changed if the entirety of Scotland had voted Labour, and it slightly boggles my mind that the conservatives have such a strong presence down south when I seriously struggle to relate to any of their policies.
All my local conservative voters came out of their shells today spouting shit like "Labour voters only care about short term issues like tuition fees and benefits".

With any luck, Scotlands going to have a bunch of powers devolved, especially including responsibility for finances and the such.
my area is still labour by only 7000 votes.
~20,000 vote majority in favour of the cons here :D
Unbelievable innit really

Expected to, yes. Along with Clegg.
Thanet South coming very soon - so Farage could follow. Disastrous night for Labour & LibDems.
I'd probably vote ukip, or the conservatives, immigration is getting out of control
Here comes Thanet South, and Al Murray pulling Excalibur from Farage's skull then being declared King.
Al Murray probably won't actually win (sadly)
Farage is gone.
Night night Farage
Smashed, Farage!
[editline]8th May 2015[/editline]
I woke up to this?
Fucking madness
Conservatives won South Thanet
Farage status:
BARRAGED

Really? And what constitutes 'out of control' exactly? It's this kind of mindless rhetoric that has caused the surge of popularity in parties such as Conservatives and UKIP who have absolutely no intention to act in the best interests of the younger generations and the working class.
Immigration is not the issue people think it is. It is a scapegoat that the government can blame poor economic performance on, rather than the irresponsibility of the banks and governments enabling them.
Goodnight sweet Prince
So this Teresa May security thing she's trying to push through, how fucked are we?
Oh boy, im looking forward to 5 more years of this shitty universal credit system.

Ah, thing is, all I know about politics is from my parent's, I was born in the uk, but I've lived in spain a long time, all I've gathered is from short trips to the uk, and hearing my parents say how that there's too many british businesses failing due to too much cheap competition.
I'm only 17, so all I know about politics is influenced from my parents, which happens to alot of people.
