Sorry, are you implying that we want someone like Hitler leading us? wat
And you can clearly see David was different.
also Hermann Goering would have been crap compared to Hitler. You need someone genuine with an actual concern, not an actor with a terrible accent.
Must have missed the report then. Weird it isn't being *widely* reported on, I should have said.
While I agree it's fair that they won under the current system and it's a bit silly to protest, the system IS pretty fucked. They got 36.9% of the vote share and yet got over 50% of the seats. Not great, really. We are in a true need of an electoral system reform.
Absolutely agree, I want to see a proper system replace FPTP and I'd agree with (non-violent) protesters if that was what they were clearly protesting, but the hashtag at least seems to be #ToriesOutNow, which is different. The representation in our system is awful and I'm aware that it's not a real 'majority' in the strict sense.
Sadly I doubt the Tories will even consider destabilising themselves with a new voting system, and Labour's Harriet Harmen hypocritically said she wouldn't want proportional representation (in order to give better equal representation to minorities) because it's 'more confusing' than fptp, apparently. (No citation, she said this at a talk I went to this year, would hope she's reconsidered this.)

Do they expect the conservatives to change their policies that won them the election? The majority of voters voted for them, they can't change to please the minority.
The majority of voters voted for them
Well, not really. Like I just said they got 36.9% of the votes.

I doubt it would even happen, electoral reform that is.
Smaller parties would completely support it as it would help them greatly but expecting the conservatives and even Labour to support it would never happen.

Labour did support AV, albeit half-heartedly, and the Blair government seriously investigated changing the voting system in its early days. It's not unthinkable that Labour could come around to the idea again at some point, but it might depend on them losing again in 2020.

Look what happened in August 2011 when they covered some riots. More started around the country! No wonder they didn't report on it

The only thing Blair really did right was how he managed the NHS under his premiership, but that being said he was a really good speaker and wasn't afraid to step up to fight in parliament.

From somebody who names a campaign "Operation Honey Badger" for example.
EDIT: Oh fuck it all
Still, can't argue with that reasoning. Good man, Dan. Even Daily Mail readers are mourning his rule out.
