That Power Armor HUD looks so good.
Hopefully they at least try to have you do the training for it. Kinda glad its like this. This armor was used by a couple hundred guys to kill like 30,000 guys during the NCR-Brotherhood war in California.
The way he enters into the power armor looks awesome. I always assumed they just put it on like regular clothes or something. :v:

I'm glad the inside is all detailed with all the gauges and stuff, always wondered they'd actually work.
The new call of duty is really looking good (User was banned for this post ("Trolling" - Craptasket))
Except they actually took pointers from id Software and some former Bungie employees regarding gunplay. SO IT'S NOT THE NEW COD, IT'S THE NEW HALO! GET IT RIGHT!!! Regardless, my general opinion on the game still stands. Gameplay looks awesome, but changes to the story and quest structure with a voiced protagonist and from what we can assume is a limited option Mass Effect style dialog system makes me worry a bit. Especially since Bethesda has never really been one to write decent quests with lots of meaningful choices in pretty much any of their games. I don't have a problem with the protagonist being voiced, it's more the implication that you're playing a character Bethesda has designed rather than a character you insert yourself into, which has been a staple in all of the Fallout games and even all of Bethesda's games. I'm not saying the change is bad, but I'm just a bit worried given Bethesda's track record. They're good at writing background stories and lore though. Animations are much better than Skyrim, but still have that "quality" Bethesda feel to some of them. It's really hard to explain what that exactly means. Maybe everything is just a bit too stiff and calculated? And we'll see what happens with the whole skills and perks being merged system if it's true. I really don't have an opinion on it and probably won't until the game comes out.

It's weird how you seem to be trained in the seemingly short amount of time left before the raiders attack again. Of course, it's probably going to be a "They'll be back, so do this before then" thing.
They still have five whole months to change things. Hopefully they'll fix any complaints that people might have. Otherwise the game looks pretty solid.

There is a folded flag on his bookshelf, and wife mentions going to a Veteran Ball Plus I think the leaked script (which is confirmed real with this video) said he was in the military.
It seems to me like Fallout Shelter was actually a test to introduce Fallout fans to some of the new concepts in FO4; having a community to take care of, radiation affecting max health, the new, more vivid UI. I wonder what else we'll find out has been slowly spoonfed to us by FS?
Something I noticed in the Combat Gameplay video. The red bar next to the HP seems to be the RAD counter, because we can see that when Mr Howard get's hit by the Mirelurk queen it goes up It seems like it's a health "capper", as you never see the health go above the red meter. I really don't hope they simplified radiation down to a point of just being something that reduces your max HP temporarily, but knowing bethesda...
Interesting, that's the exact same system used in Fallout Shelter for the vault dwellers
I loved how the music began when he smashed into the ground.

Now I want to be able to train my followers in the use of power armor.
I guess I'm the only one who thinks the power armor hud looks hilariously cheesy and bad.
People tend to refurbish and rebuild after, you know, 2 centuries. and I don't know if you noticed, but most of the wasteland is still dust and rubble so I don't know how "post-apocalyptic" you want it to be.
That's his point actually. The game looks like the apocalypse happened 20 years ago and people have started just barely rebuilding. When in reality, you had groups that were active outside for well over a century. The place should look a lot more repaired as opposed to just barely coming together. The place looks almost as well off as fallout 1. In some cases worse off. And that game took place less than a century after the war.
The way he enters into the power armor looks awesome. I always assumed they just put it on like regular clothes or something. :v:
That's actually kinda the case with pretty much all the other styles. Which is why the helmet isn't actually part of the armour and can be taken off. Not to mention t51 b is merely a powered version of military combat armour.
Explain how you came to that conclusion.
You need to be more specific.
I guess I'm the only one who thinks the power armor hud looks hilariously cheesy and bad.
It fits the Fallout Style though. Though I could say it could take up a bit less of the screen
It fits the Fallout Style though. Though I could say it could take up a bit less of the screen
They concept behind the UI fits, I just think it looks really badly made.
But when in the power armor it shows up as a different meter, so maybe there's more to it :xfiles:
My guess is that the health there is for the power armor itself, because there was a health value on the different parts and a repair option when they showed the power armor customization, while the rad counter is there to help you keep an eye on your radiation so you don't end up killing yourself when taking power armor into irradiated areas.
:hypeisreal: All this gameplay stuff looks great to me, I can't wait.
They concept behind the UI fits, I just think it looks really badly made.
The whole point of power armor is to be...well...powered. I think a character from Fallout 3 said that Power Armor is less like plate armor, and more like a vehicle suit, ala Iron Man's suit. As such, combined with retro-futuristic 50s aesthetics, Power Armor is going to look bulky as hell, because you're basically a literal walking tank.
I liked the ambient music.

imagine thinking this looks bad
imagine thinking this looks bad
The looks and gameplay are excellent. What is being questioned is beth's plotting competency.
imagine thinking this looks bad
People are getting waaaaaaaay to pessimistic about alot in the games industry lately. More sad is people are just being free for all about it, even games that look super promising get blasted. [editline]18th July 2015[/editline]
The looks and gameplay are excellent. What is being questioned is beth's plotting competency.
I like to hope that Beth has been learning from complaints about Fallout 3, and Fallout New Vegas. There was an interview with Todd where he said he planted spies in Fallout communities on the internet like r/Fallout to get opinions on how Beth could make a better Fallout game.
Best choice would be to hire Avallone, so long as they can keep a leash on his grimderp tendencies.
The open-bolt assault rifle that is garage gun as fuck, and the laser musket. Christ, this game is so much more post-apocalyptic in terms of weapons.
I really love that they changed power armor to be something more significant than a bullet sponge that you can carry like 3 suits of in your inventory. I am curious though if they'll keep the "lighter" T-45d/T-51b in too or if it's only T-60 models romping about.
Also wonder if there's going to be clipping issues when you're wearing bigger armor while entering a T-60; maybe it'll do an automatic unequip when entering?
Or it'll just say you can't enter this while wearing these, which is a very Bethesda way of doing it. But hey. If you can't do something, you can't do it, what other explanation ya need
That power armor makes me want a warhammer 40k mod for it
