What is the ending supposed to symbolize? That mankind is actually weak but our technology is what actually makes us superior?
It's supposed to symbolise that until we stop being fractured, short sighted, consumerist idiots we are putting out a welcoming mat for anything else in the galaxy that comes across us to just fuck us up like we were nothing.

I don't understand all this "man is evil" propaganda. You can't just throw accusations without a solution to fixing it. Otherwise it is merely finger pointing.

Personally I think we should increase our level of knowledge and industry, but we should do it responsibly and in harmony with our planet and our fellow man. I didn't say evil either, I just said short sighted. I mean, if there are/have been millions of extra-terrestrial civilisations in the universe, some of them probably became extinct because of an excess of cleverness and a shortage of wisdom.
Humans are op.

The message I get from these videos and drawings is "man is bad, feel bad". It is like many of media pieces that make you feel guilty about something. We have enough critics in this world, it will change nothing. If you actually want things to change then this is not a way to accomplish it.
I'm actually getting the vibe of humanity being badass from this animation. I mean going around turning animals into shit you want just because.
Fried chicken basketball. :v:
this was a stupid video that says nothing new or constructive or insightful in the least.
this was a stupid video that says nothing new or constructive or insightful in the least.
You're a stupid person that says nothing new or constructive or insighful in the least.
You're a stupid person that says nothing new or constructive or insighful in the least.
what a clever answer. i guess i must admit defeat. no not really. it's an idiotic video about how terrible and destructive "man" is, which is both a trite and well-developed concept, and also completely inaccurate. it comes off as smugly aware but makes absolutely no arguments; it's just a statement. it does not start or add to a conversation. it's merely saying "oh yeah man is so bad, am i cool now." it looks and feels like a horrible political cartoon, the sort of thing a 13-year-old would spit out for a homework assignment. some of the animation towards the end is neat, that's about the nicest thing i can say about it.
I dont buy into the "Mankind is evil" bit, we are the only species to question whether we are inherently good or evil, which in my book makes us better than the others right from the start. Humans have be given the gift of understanding and judgement, lets not waste a blessing by damning ourselves. "We adjust to new conditions and discoveries. We are pliable. Love need not be a command nor faith a dictum. I am my own god. We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us.”

If we aren't critical of ourselves then we might as well forget fixing our major flaws, even if they possibly may not be fixed with any amount of effort. That quote you posted is just as pointless as the video, though its theme is the polar opposite of what was emphasized within the animation. Our achievement of satisfaction and happiness isn't equal to our advancement and self-correction as a species. Of course, being self-critical is something constructive and self-damning is the same as a baseless insult; there is a gaping difference between the two. Same as being proud of our current achievements is different as acting unduly righteous because of them.

I know we have flaws but being pessimistic and self-deprecating fixes nothing; we are slowly getting better. Most of the "evil" acts in the video were things humans did out of necessity and ignorance (Deforestation, pollution, etc.); as we become more advanced and knowledgeable we are starting to fix these things. Also the main theme through out that eating animals is wrong is not something I agree with, I dont like our current industrialized system but I dont think we are bad for being omnivores.
