The internet is dying
FUNNIEST PORTAL QUOTES WHAT THE FUCK
The only thing I found funny on that site was the Toenninga page.
Well, RIP ED.
Thanks for all the laughs, and that shitty night of constant phone calls and emails a few years back.
How long before I Can Has Cheezburger buys this and all the crap collapses in on itself?
Im going to kill myself.
Wow it's like...
It's like...
I don't give a single fuck.
Bad site gets replaced with worse site.
Worst part:
Find us on Facebook
1,464 people like OhInternet.
There are 1500 people that actually enjoy the infinitely shittier version of a shitty site.
The only way you could possibly enjoy that site is if you've had an internet connection for less than 24 hours and have never heard of a meme.
I mean it's even named after a meme, be more terrible please
icanhascheezburger has gotten to big i think. Makes internet to main stream. We need another .com crash to make the internet nerdy again.
Oh no, now where am I going to get my malware infections???
Don't be afraid to edit - anyone can edit almost any page, and we encourage you to add meaningful and interesting information. Find something that can be improved, either in content, grammar or formatting, and fix it.
You can't break OhInternet. Anything can be fixed or improved later. So go ahead, find a page and edit. Just remember to keep all language and images "SFW".
Cue ED fans flooding the site with pictures of dicks at various angles and lighting.
Only the people who got offended by ED hates it
Anyone who found ae offensive is a retard
This. Among other things it was one of the greatest troll sites on the internet and watching people get worked up about it was hilarious. Sort of like the Anal Cunt of websites.
Countless better websites for the same thing out there than ED.
Countless better websites for the same thing out there than ED.
Now point to one that has near the same amount of content
It was going to happen eventually. Half the good articles on ED got pulled for DMCAs. This new site is a shadow of its former self. Lots of good content was lost, and if anyone tries to rewrite old articles they will turn out like shit because of the new SFW bullshit. I doubt the new site will be half as popular as the old one, and will probably end up being a shit(tier) Know Your Meme clone. At least the massive amounts of gore on ED kept little kids away. Now it'll be flooded with terrible articles written by hipsters. Damn you, Joseph Evers. I hope the internet will take swift and painful revenge.

This was their video of the day. What the fuck?
Only the people with articles on ED hate it
Fixed this post for you. Also, someone is doing justice and remaking the good, old ED, racism and offensive content included.
It was an oasis of free speech. It will be missed.
All it did was exploit freedom of speech.
It was synonymous to a punk high school kid yelling every swear he knows in a public place just because he can.
it was a bunch of idiots laughing at memes and patting each othero n the back for being so edgy and witty, youre kidding yourself if you think it wasanything else
Late reply but you just described SA and Facepunch as a whole.
As much as i always avoided ED, i also cherished the fact it existed.
It was a source of raw internet culture and history.
I hope that they make a textbook called "History of the Internet" split into two portions: Mechanics, and Social. The mechanics is the boring part, going into how it works and the general history, but the Social portion would go into facebook, websites, and have entire chapters on Memes and Forums/message boards. It would be amazing, and I would be willing to make something like this when I have the time and money, just for laughs or a good read if anything.

People can stop posting that link now, everybody knows.

Holy shit, I found the new site.
Yes hello, former EDiot here. Migrating to Facepunch now since EDF is dead. How are you all this fine day?
rampageturke 2 doesn't think it's a fine day.
Also hi. Just recreated an account at ED.ch. Until they re-fix all the articles. I'll properly browse alot.
Well I guess that is what happens to bad rubbish, next thing you know 4chan will go down the drain and everybody will be like: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCKKKK!!!

Found this earlier, friend just reminded me about it.
For reference, I have nothing against these guys so don't be expecting me to white knight on your behalf or something like that.

For anyone who doesn't use anything to do with web languages, leaving that public is basically a :downs: practice.
*prepares for dumbs and flaming*
...but, what was ED? Ive never heard off it until this thread.
Welp, there goes just about 97% of ED's content.

Encyclopædia Dramatica was a satirical open wiki that used MediaWiki software. Launched on December 10, 2004, it lampooned both encyclopedic topics and current events, especially those related to or relevant to internet culture. It was frequently utilized by a socially fluid and dynamic internet subculture known as Anonymous.[4] The site celebrated a subversive "trolling culture",[5] having documented significant incidents of underground internet events such as mass organized pranks (trolling events they termed as "raids"), large scale failures of the internet infrastructure and security, and criticism of some more conservative internet communities they accused of self-censoring their own content in order to garner prestige, positive coverage and commentary from traditional and established media outlets. Wired (magazine) described Encyclopædia Dramatica as a "vast parallel universe of Anonymous in-jokes, catchphrases, and obsessions is lovingly annotated, and you will discover an elaborate trolling culture: Flamingly racist and misogynist content lurks throughout, all of it calculated to offend". Ninemsn described Encyclopædia Dramatica as: "Wikipedia's evil twin. It’s a site where almost every article is biased, offensive, unsourced, and without the faintest trace of political correctness. A search through its archives will reveal animated images of people committing suicide, articles glorifying extreme racism and sexism, and a seemingly endless supply of twisted, shocking views on just about every major human tragedy in history."
