I've listened (and listening right now) to all Pink Floyd albums and singles, watched all live videos. Ask your questions.

best/worst album?
best/worst single?
best/worst live video?
Listening to Pink Floyd one song at a time sucks compared to listening to one of their albums all the way through, and stoners don't listen to Pink Floyd JUST because it's cool to get high to it. I listen to it when high and when sober and they're just as good.
The Wall is by far one of their best works. It's so deep, and dark, but in a real sort of way, not like these gayarse screamo bands or whatever, trying to be dark and depressing, this does it without even trying. Fantastic album.

I'm not that guy, but Floyd are very opposed to releasing just one song from an album. That's exactly why they pulled their material off iTunes, people were just buying one or two of their hits and not many were buying the full album. Pretty much every studio album from Floyd was a concept album and they released quite a few continuous albums, so I can see why they'd be annoyed at the majority ignoring alot of their effort.

Yeah, I'm a bit of a Pink Floyd noob compared to some of the guys here... haven't gone through a hell of a lot of their stuff.
Only their best work (The Wall, Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here) and Atom Heart Mother and Final Cut

Get Meddle, Animals, Saucerful, Piper and Division. P-U-L-S-E is good too. Also, don't call anything their best until you've heard most or all of their albums. Otherwise you'll have preconceptions about them being not as good and probably won't enjoy them as much. Listen with an open mind.

I believe I said that before :smug:

The Meddle version of Echoes is one of the best songs, and it's really trippy if you're high.

No, this is wrong. You want to be completely sober, you can catch every note and think about it, do nothing else but listen to this song, no drink, no drugs, nothing, and just listen and think.

Amen!
I never said it was better when you're high, but most things are including music even if you don't focus as much on it just try listening to it alone in a dark room while high.
Gilmoure is doing this show in The Netherlands for the first time somewhere this year, I'd love to go there.
Don't you mean Waters?

Listen to Meddle and Relics. If you like Relics then feel free to check out more of their older stuff. The Division Bell can be pretty cool.

People should listen to it how they want to.
Great album.
People who think you have to be high to listen to Pink Floyd properly are retarded. While the music itself is probably drug influenced, it doesn't mean you should listen to it in the same state.
There are a few tracks they could have gone without, but the rest are fucking amazing

No one was on drugs in Floyd but Sid, and he stopped got kicked out after their second album.

They were all on drugs when Syd was around, but Syd was easily the worst of them. When he left, they stopped the whole drug business.

No but you can listen to it any way you want to, listening to music while high doesn't make you retarded and you do get a different experience of each song. I've been listening to Pink Floyd for years now and they're good no matter which way you listen to them.

Syd was the only one to do drugs. This is specifically said in I believe two documentaries. I'm trying to find a good source that says they did drugs, I found something about Wright doing coke and Waters doing acid a few times, but I haven't seen this anywhere else and that was on wiki answers and that isn't reliable. Can you find me a source for this, because I'm quite sure they were clean.
