I dunno, Jordan was a pretty awesome just because it was random notes slammed together that somehow sounded like a song.
I'm not saying he's a bad guitarist or anything, especially as he was taught by Paul Gilbert, who is my favourite guitarist, but I think that his image definitely played a part in making him famous.

His chromatic structure is very technical, though it does have no feeling. It's just science on a guitar really. It's hardly song's he plays. Just.. noise. Though very complex. Brent Hinds from Mastodon. Very big banjo influence, just listen to the interlude in this song at about 1:36.

Tom Delonge

John Christ of Danizg
If randy rhodes was still alive, he'd be the best guitarist alive. Also John 5 Alexi Laiho Mikael Amott Mikael Akerfeldt and if you know Slipknot, Mick Thompson. Yes, he is actually a good guitarist, not on the level of these other guys, but he is far better than he has ever been given credit for.
Oh god yes John 5 and Alexi Laiho are so horribly underrated. No, seriously. Like...among guitar players and musicians they're pretty well known but almost fucking nobody knows who they are aside from those groups.
