the reserves son? what DA FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't see the big deal.
he's expressing outrage over thinking that the reserves are any thing difficult
i think, it's a bit hard to translate, i'm not fluent.
In all seriousness, how hard is the transition to military life? I've always considered joining the Army Reserve, but I'm concerned that I'll be too mentally / physically weak to deal with it. Is it difficult?
You are joining one of the world's most powerful military and you're asking whether it is difficult or not? If you have doubts or second thoughts before enlisting then they will end up being magnified twenty-fold when you're standing at the edge of the kill-zone in your barracks being lectured by a Drill Sergeant that has to work 20 hours a day for the first month of your training, you being thousands of miles away from your home, in the middle of torrential rain with 49 other dirty, wet, lowly privates that are from different corners of life in a room that is no bigger than two classrooms.

If you lack motivation or have doubt, the drill sergeants will smell it off your skin and fresh ACU's, they will make it obvious and they will set you up for failure if you keep it up. The DS on the right was my platoon drill sergeant. He likes collective punishments.

Fear the blue ring, it signals pain in your near future.
hey guys I need advice. I've been in the process of enlisting in the Army. Everything was going fine until I got my medical records back and somewhere along the line some doctor was saying I'd had asthma. Now I don't remember ever having asthma, I'm currently in the process of speaking with my practitioner to resolve the issue but my question is if I've had asthma but it's an issue that's been resolved am I going to be able to enlist? Like I said I'm in contact with my doctor to try and figure out if they can have it struck from my record but barring that is it still possible to join with a history of resolved asthma?
21 days until I leave for RTC. It's getting close.
what does a surface warfare officer do in the navy
friend says tell people what to do, paperwork, and then play xbox, which is cool with me, but the navy website is making it sound ungodly stupid and only for people who want to have a powertrip
Lose that moto boner man, you'll get plenty of time to do that when your moping floors and cleaning shit.
Oh I know it's going to suck man, If you don't mind me asking, what's your MOS?

6174 huey crewchief.
Lucky. You get flight time. So you work on the Venoms, or the old UH-1s?

Never made it to work/fly on them, got awarded the MOS then pee'd blood and got put into an admin type desk job. Now I'm waiting for a medsep for kidney disease.
If I were to go to college for two years, and then join, would I still come out as an airman basic, or would I get a bump up for the degree?

It's called the knife-hand apparently, i'm sorta curious as to why they do that myself
It ups the intimidation factor, and it is actually an effective way to point at something. If you point with your whole arm and hand like that, it brings way more attention to whatever you are pointing at than a single finger.

Something tells me that if I ever do join the military i'm going to be knife-handed at least once or twice when i'm in basic, IE get chewed out by my drill instructor.

I think that happens to everyone.
Asthma is the big red flag that says, 'No, you cannot join.'
So I'm guessing since I've had asthma since birth I have zero chances of joining the military?
So I'm guessing since I've had asthma since birth I have zero chances of joining the military?
Not if you don't tell them that you have it. I mean as long as you don't have to use an inhaler regularly, as long as they don't find out about your asthma then I don't see how it's going to stop you from joining.
If you have serious asthma issues though, don't even bother.

The knife hand is the primary tool of the Drill Sergeant for bringing attention to things. Whenever they point, they point with a knife hand. What you really need to be worried about is if they have their arms straight down at their sides with their fists clenched while yelling at you. Truth be told, if this ever happens you might not get to see it because you are probably getting a lovely view of the ground.
So I spoke with my doctor. Apparently my asthma diagnosis was a misdiagnosis!
Are Air Force MTIs as hard core as Marine DIs?
Thinking of being an FMF Corpsman, but I want to be attached to the USMC as a corpsman. Any USMC corpsmen around here?
