• Thinking of Joining the Military? V2

So after highschool I'm thinking of going to college and ROTC to become a helicopter pilot. If I don't manage to get a scholarship, I think I would join in and go into an engineering corp through the army or navy. If anyone knows, could they tell me the main difference between the Seabees and the Army engineering Corps aside from the obvious branch difference?
Now this is more of an exercise question. What do you guys recommend to get in shape to pass basic physical? Obvious needs are diet change, but what do you do? Double-Throwdown Lift Weights with your Nipples for 8 hours straight or just take a long, leisurely walk, or something in the middle.
Well. You have to run a mile in eight minutes. I'd say something in the middle.

All that fun stuff, you'll be thanking yourself later when you can handle the miles of running and other exercises with energy to finish.
It's the pullups that will kill me to death, but running seems like the easier option now.
everything ive ever heard about seabees is that they're full of stupid people [editline]9th August 2012[/editline] stupid as in 30 on the asvab kind of stupid

I scored a 78 on it during my Sophomore year and I hadn't slept for two days and could barely even stay awake or have any critical thinking.

She wanted to join the navy, and she didn't know what a submarine was.
there are some special people on this planet
Seabees are a special breed. I was chillin at the beach drinking with a couple of Seabees once. This guy had to piss but he was too lazy to go in th water/bathroom. So he stood their tall and proud and pissed his board shorts. Gotta love em.
Hm..i mean, I have bundles of freedom considering that I can potentially get into any enlisted field. [editline]10th August 2012[/editline] How do you even get a 17 on an absurdly easy test?

Talk to your recruiter about "Highschool to flightschool". It is basically where you apply for WOFT without joining the military first. If you have a good WOFT packet with a nice AFAST score and good recommendations, as well as passing all the boards, then you are on your way to becoming a warrant officer and flying. It is probably what I should have done, but instead I decided to enlist and get some experience in aviation first. I say, go for it. [editline]10th August 2012[/editline] Also, what is your GT score?
Oh man, you got banned. Well, try to answer after your ban is up.
Well Gents my ship date was changed again and now I leave monday, you ladies enjoy yourselves and take care of facepunch for me.

When we received our scores later and had a talk from a local recruiter, I noticed he didn't talk, move or look around. He was like an empty shell.
The test administrator told me that if you answer C for everything you would get a 27. A few seconds after that, someone walks out and says "FUCK I got a 22!"
leave tomorrow for basic. Wish me luck gents!
leave tomorrow for basic. Wish me luck gents!
BCT?
leave tomorrow for basic. Wish me luck gents!
Good luck out there.
BCT?
Yep.
Yep.
Ok man, here is the best advice I can give you. Fly low. Don't speak unless spoken to, don't say stupid shit to the DS, don't screw around when training, always be 10 minutes prior to everything, Do exactly as the DS says, and don't quit, ever. Also, what I did was count down the time to the next chow time to get through each day. Do these things and you will be just fine. BCT is just hyped up by everyone. That said, good luck. Also, which post are you going to?
Thanks for the advice. I'm going to Benning.
Oh shit. All I can tell you is be ready for the pain and never quit. Also, hope to hell that you don't have all Special Forces Drill Sergeants.
Thanks for the advice. I'm going to Benning.
HOT AS FUCK Seriously, south Georgia is about the worst place in terms of humidity and temperature. Drink far more water than you think you should. Good luck.
Thanks for the advice. I'm going to Benning.
Ahhhahahahahaahahaahahah. You're going to have FUN Look for the blue ring on the Drill Sergeant's hats. That means they're the ones that entered the Army as non-infantry, ask them about what MOS they have and you might be lucky to have one that has your's.
Blue rings mean prior Air Force. Ask them about life in the Chair Force.
ask them why they didn't join the marines b/c marines are the best i'm sure they'd love that
Be sure to salute your NCO's.
