Apparently you can get in the military with a GED, but the slots fill up very quickly, when do the slots open up? It would be a lot better to get 15 credits wouldn't it.
Dammit I basically answered my own question.
Just get your damn diploma. It's too easy to pass high school
i thought it didnt matter if it was a ged or high school diploma as long as you finished one of those things.

Not for the Air Force or Navy. You need a high school diploma for them. I'm not sure if the Army or the Marines follow that same rule though. Hell they're barely accepting people with college degrees with all the cuts and shit going on.

You can get in to any branch with a GED it's just more difficult because most MEPS stations will take a diploma rather than a GED.

It must of just been our recruiting stations then. Friend of mine couldn't get in right after High School. He had to wait 1.5 years for his job.

I already screwed up, instead of going to summer school couple years ago, I decided to go to England instead to see my grandparents.
Is anyone here in the Canadian Military? Looks like its mostly US obviously, but if anyone here is Canadian it'd be cool to hear how military life is.

Then you better start digging in with your counselor to get a diploma and graduate on time with the rest of your class.

A lot of kids don't realize that counselors help them big time in high school.

Agh, forgot to say I'm already going to take my GED test, so I'm most very likely going to have to get 15 college credits, sorry for drawing this out over 3 posts :v:
A recruiter asked me this,
I had some attention problem when I was a child, it practically went away after a month or two, but I also had to take some type of medication (which I'll bring up later on when I call the docs office).
Can people actually get disqualified even if they're not taking medication after probably 10 years? - When it was a growing/maturing type of deal.
Ok so I found the medication - "Concerta" would this disqualify me from any kind of military service? I've only used it for probably a month in 2003 at the age of 7-9. I really do not like the idea that I would get disqualified for something so small many years ago.
For the airforce-
Edit:
Fuck I'm sorry guys, didn't know it bumps after 2 hours.

I wouldn't worry about it. If it's something that they would find in your medical record then tell them before they find it. However, if there isn't a med record of it, then don't bother telling them. They shouldn't care if it was that long ago.

It was in the records, (if records you mean you can request it at anytime)
Plus I want to tell the truth, so I sent the name of the medicine and how long I took it to the recruiters email.
I wonder what would happen if you were so athletic you just screwed with the Drill instructors/drill sergeants that you just put up with whatever they gave you.

Anyway, any tips on what to ask an air force recruiter that I don't have to ask here?
I mean I personally want to enlist for four years then use benefits for college (while in or out)
Look at a few aircrew jobs. I think they're still ramming in loadmasters by the bus full(Majority of my tech school squadron are alpha 2s), aerial gunner is gonna disappear and merge with flight engies into a new afsc, avoid boom operators like the plague(severely overrercruited and now most are waiting 6 months to a year for a SERE date).
On a random note, I dont believe I actually posted in this thread since I got back. I graduated USAF BMT on June 22nd, and am currently STILL AT LACKLAND, waiting to start my 3 level for loadmaster. Though it can get depressing as hell because every time I hear about someone's training pipeline, they're not done till like next year, and I've barely started, I still have no doubt in my mind that I have made the best choice for my life.

I only had 1 loadmaster in my flight, and around 12 secfos. I guess Lackland wouldn't be too bad to have your schooling at. Fuck tons of stuff to do off base. Went to the Alamo and Sea World right after graduation. What Tech Schools are at Lackland?

That sucks about aerial gunnery. I was really thinking about doing that. What about AWACS or Airborne Cryptology? Basically anything with a flight suit and flight time is what I want to do.

Does anybody happen to know how hard this is to acquire for a non-engineering and non-medical related study course? I'm confident about doing linguistics at ANU or Uni of Canberra, and I want to consider this as part of it.
For anybody looking to do marine or navy aviation, I took the ASTB yesterday. It's not as hard as people say.
Just graduated BCT at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, leaving for AIT in Arizona 0200 tomorrow morning.

All aircrew jobs are at the 344th, as well as matmen and contracting. 343rd is SecFo, of course. 342nd is all the special forces guys, so PJs, tacps, Sowts and CCTs. Bein here is ok, but I'm 19 and all my friends are 21+, so I'm left behind while they go get shit faced.
