Thinking of joining the Army
What sorta plane did you fly on? C130?
HIGHLY doubt they would use a c130 for that kind of trip. More then likely a C17, possibly a C5
You are intel, aren't you? Anyways, 2-17 coin, Out Front!
That's classified, I'm not at liberty to say...
What sorta plane did you fly on? C130?

they drove
Or they could've driven a C130. It does has wheels, and you don't need to necessarily take off.
Or they could've driven a C130. It does has wheels, and you don't need to necessarily take off.
And it was designed for rough runways. There's no reason it couldn't handle a highway.
I flew on a chartered 777. Funniest thing was that they made us tape up all of our multitools and seatbelt cutters because they "Might be mistaken as a weapon". While we were holding M4s, M9s, and M249s. The irony was off the charts. [editline]26th August 2012[/editline] Also, I got the 101st Division Commander's coin from Maj. Gen. McConville. Shit was awesome.
bet you had to wear a glowbelt too
No, reflective belts are only for PT and walking around post at night. At my FOB we have a blackout in effect so no reflective belt. Pretty great, I hate reflective belts. [editline]26th August 2012[/editline] Also, contrary to popular belief, flights on military aircraft suck. They are always loud as shit and uncomfortable, and fucking freezing. Fuck C17s, C130s, and C5s.

Other than that, it was a nice 14 hour flight (fml)

The coin that the general gave me is in the middle. From right to left I have my Skyrim coin (pretty awesome, I was just buying some electronics from the px when skyrim had come out, and I went to the register and asked me a question about skyrim. I answered correctly and they gave me the coin.), 101st AB Division coin, and the 2-17 coin. People will now be hard pressed to beat a Maj. Gen. coin in a coin challenge. That's awesome Skeea! I've been collecting challenge coins for about 7 months now and managed to snag 12 coins, but never a coin above a Colonel/Captain.
I've got some 160th coins, I bet SKEEA is jealous
Before you join the Military you should probably read Johnny got his gun. If you still want to go, then you're probably cut out for it.
I've got some 160th coins, I bet SKEEA is jealous
Maybe a little. However, I love my unit.
can someone explain challenge coins for me is it like military pokemon
can someone explain challenge coins for me is it like military pokemon
Challenge coins are coins that are given out by commanders and sergeants major. You have to earn them. I have earned my squadron coin and division coin for the same reason, but at different events. I earned my squadron commander's coin by being the youngest person to complete the spur ride I was on. That was a few months ago. I earned the division commander's coin by being the youngest person in my task force to deploy, with the promise that I would continue the tradition of excellence of my particular division, being the 101st Airborne. Challenge coins are special in the fact that if you pull it out at a bar and slam it down, if no one else has a coin that beats the rank on your coin they have to buy you a drink. I have a Maj. General coin and a Lt. Colonel coin. I will definitely use the division commander's coin a lot when I get back to CONUS.

holy shit so there are like "one free beer from any lower ranking member" cards
In the Navy and Marine Corps challenge coins can be given out by all ranks.
I should get a PFC Skeen challenge coin for laughs.
I should get a PFC Skeen challenge coin for laughs.
I would totally lay out a PFC coin [editline]29th August 2012[/editline] At least it would beat out my own rank [editline]29th August 2012[/editline] Although I should be promoted next month
Just found out that a Lt.Gen. is coming in tomorrow, and I was chosen to give him a full TSA brief on Integrated Air Defense Systems. Holy fuck I'm nervous as hell. I'm loving last second notices. Let's let the new guy brief it they said. It will be funny they said. :suicide:
Did that ROTC orientation. Me and four others out of 12 passed PT test. I'm the only infantryman in the whole class. :smug:
