Getting yelled at isn't even the worst part of basic trainig..for me it was not getting enough food to ever feel even remotely full and being away from home.
I'm fairly certain they're still pretty rough in the Marines. You'll get used to it incredibly fast and find yourself caught up in being busy and just have all the screaming turn into background noise after a while. However, I'm in the Army, and our standard for discipline only was really shown and feared a few rare days. Also any of you guys looking for an MOS, if you're looking into EOD and have any questions about basic prep, I'd be hyped to help you out. Still going strong, hitting the harder training divisions within a week so hopefully I'll still get to say that by April. Also SKEEA! How ya doin man?
Doing fine, thank you for asking. Reaching the midpoint to my deployment, maintaining Kiowas like a boss, studying for the SoM board, helping kill INS, livin' the dream.
Filling out the Air Force Application for Employment. Very detailed, and just like a regular application it needs references. I really want to do some national service, and not as apprehensive as I was, especially after learning about the food situation. PT and being away from home still freaking me out a bit.

The food get's better's as you get used to it, you'll be hungry to the point you won't give to shits.
Pt is something I now look forward to first pt test was a 190, now i'm rocking a 280, pt is a great morning wake up and eventually you'll start doing it in the evening.
And if you're going a pog mos and doing this shitty APRT which sucks dick you'll need to do you're own pt to stay strong.
You're Air Force, the food in AF messes, in my country at least, is fucking delish.
Army. Currently stationed at an Air Force base. The food is amazing, and I had to be informed I didn't have to clean up my own tray.
To me it seems that the smaller the base, the better the food. Take Goodfellow AFB for example.
Manas AFB in Kyrgyzstan. They got store racks with fucking candy bars just sitting there. RACKS full of chocolate. Chairforce got it good.
I find it funny how the Air Force considers Manas a deployment. That place is rad. The DFAC is stellar.

Same here in GTMO. Depends on what command you're with.
On a scale of one to ten, 1 being 3rd grade 10 being SAT's in another language, how hard is the AVSAB?

I have no idea how I passed
So what do you guys do for command PT? The hospital here has mandatory PT once a week and it shows. I did far more PT while at ODS. A lot of people could be in better shape and they barely pass the PRT.

Since our shop isn't part of a squadron/group we just do PT as a shop 3 times a week. We also have a "PT timer" in our office that goes off every hour to indicate a fews minutes of PUs or SUs.

For some reason it being the janko from Shrek makes this twice as funny

I'm afraid that I would be the only one in my department that would be motivated enough to do a group PT session in addition to command PT. Not many people like getting up that early but I don't mind since I'm already up.

Depending on the weather we usually do it in the afternoon. We cut an hour off the end of our shift and dedicate that to PT. Just to push us a little more we wear whatever PT gear we want to. TBH our issued PT gear is just so damn uncomfortable. I'm not sure about other branches but we're allowed to listen to IPods on the running portion of the PT test. Extra motivation goes a long way.
How bad is SERE training?
How bad is SERE training?
You get to eat rabbit eye balls, get the shit beaten out of you, get dragged out in the middle of winter in your underwear and sprayed with a hose, and placed inside a small cube with the sound of babies crying blasting though speakers. What do you think?
It is SEREous business.
Friendly piece of advice;
Before you enlist, first think about WHY you wanna join.
It's obvious that if you wanna join because:
a.)COD is fucking amazing. You're wrong.
b.)BF3 is SUPER fucking amazing. You're wrong.
c.)You think you could land a SpecOps MOS. You're wrong.
d.)You think this shit is a cake walk and that you dont really have to work hard. You're wrong.
e.)You have prior drug usage/charges, and/or criminal charges & think you will qualify for a SC, you are very very very wrong.
f.)You think you'll be able to land a MOS thats "safe", once again, you're very wrong.
You MUST think about the future.
Do you want to make a career out of the military? If not, what do you want to do when you get out? What military branch will be the best fit considering your career choice (and remember you better consider your MOS. It's a deal breaker).
Never EVER EVER talk to 1 branch, listen to a recruiter, and be immediately sold into the slavery of military (thats really what it is). Talk to ALL branches. THEN form your opinion. Fuck what every other retard out there has to say. It's all about YOU, not others.
This is how I thought,
this is what I did,
this is why I enlisted in the USMC.
Semper Fidelis, motherfucker.
