Fuck rangers, We did a 12 mile ruch march this morning on the most shitty trail, I beat all the hooah hooah rangers.... Also shitty 12 mile ruch march in the rain so 45 pounds came out 65 pounds.
Were they just people with Ranger tabs, or actual Rangers? [editline]7th November 2012[/editline]
Fuck rangers you say? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jessica_Lynch
There were PJs, SFOD-D, etc in that raid too, doesn't say much. Also, why'd she get a bronze star? The POW medal and the Purple Heart I understand, but not that.
The 2nd RB boys were the ones that had actually did the raid while the SF guys just cordoned off the area.

Why would anyone join the military [editline]7th November 2012[/editline] a sincere question. I thought about it, but once I did I realized it was a terrible idea
Why would anyone join the military [editline]7th November 2012[/editline] a sincere question. I thought about it, but once I did I realized it was a terrible idea
To be a part of a band of brothers, to gain great job benefits, get trained in skills not found in other places, things like that. The military is a place for some, but not for everyone. I joined and I am happy with it, I am a 19 year old that is now trained in how to maintain helicopters. My troop feels like a large family, and nowhere else would you get the kind of camaraderie that we have. I am saving a lot of money too. I also feel a sense of duty. There are many reasons to join the military, but as I said, it is not for everyone.
Fuck rangers you say? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jessica_Lynch
Okay let me say this again, fuck rangers. I know alot of people who are rangers and are amazingly shitty soldiers, i've done prp its pussy easy and from what I hear so is most of ranger school. They do a few raids? What makes them any different my any other unit? Here's something funny 1-27 has more Medal of Honour holders than them, cool you wear a tab and did 60 days of training more. No different than any other soldier except for one fucking tab. I just find it funny everyone will list all these amazing raids that rangers did and not look at any other unit that's been in a war. [editline]7th November 2012[/editline]
Were they just people with Ranger tabs, or actual Rangers? .
Not too many rangers think I saw like 4 people and plenty of tab holders.
Seven months til I enlist, might wait until August though, not 100% sure.
Similar question here, does the Navy (American) have a weight requirement, because i am skinny as fuck.
I think they just give you double rations at basic.
Similar question here, does the Navy (American) have a weight requirement, because i am skinny as fuck.
Here's a chart for you to check for minimum weight. http://usmilitary.about.com/od/navyjoin/l/blrecrutwtmale.htm
Here's a chart for you to check for minimum weight. http://usmilitary.about.com/od/navyjoin/l/blrecrutwtmale.htm
Im pretty much right on the mark. But im gaining weight at a steady rate because i lift weights now, and I try to double/triple my calorie intake along with upping my Protein intake. So if i rolled with the navy i would likely be a a good 10 lb heavier in 6 months anyways.

Also the benefits are great.
What was it like being out on your own, becoming a responsible adult male? That thought is probably the scariest for me, since I have never had major responsibilities on me.
What was it like being out on your own, becoming a responsible adult male? That thought is probably the scariest for me, since I have never had major responsibilities on me.
Wasn't a big deal for me. I've been living on my own for quite some time before getting my commission but I can see how daunting of a task it could be for some people.
What was it like being out on your own, becoming a responsible adult male? That thought is probably the scariest for me, since I have never had major responsibilities on me.
I was nervous at first leaving my home. But the "transition" was so fast that I didn't even notice the amount of responsibility that I've been able to manage. It's really not that tough. It just becomes a life habit.

Not all of them are shitty though the bunch I met and trained with had a very bad attitude to anyone without a ranger tab. And if you want to share opinions which would you respect more? A ranger tab or an EIB?
And if you want to share opinions which would you respect more? A ranger tab or an EIB?
How about respecting all of the members of the Armed Forces the same? Doesn't matter what they do, all jobs equate to a primary objective. Every member contributes to that said objective. We work as a whole dude.
The amount of qualifications you earn doesn't really warrant additional respect, it just usually shows how committed they are. You can still hate a EIB, Airborne, Air Assault, Pathfinder, Drill Sergeant, Recruiter qualified soldier.

I have my reasons and my main arguement is the ranger tab dosnt mean anything different that your typical infantry unit if you have any evidence other wise I would love to share views, not argue or scream LOL RANGERS SUX I would share my evidence too. Also i'm hardly hating any of the armed forces im not saying if you aint infantry you aint shit far be it, every mos has its purpose. Again if my message isnt clear I dont hate the ranger tab I just dislike the amount of attention it gets when its an over-rated school that's main purpose now seems to be getting points for a promotion, if someone has it that's great but in my eyes it dosnt make you any differnt from any regular infantry soldier, dosnt matter if you're a tab holder or in the regiment. Also who said I hated EIB i'm going for it in less than a month?

The military teaches you responsibility, and living on your own as a new private isn't all that hard. The barracks are free, you have a meal card, and you just have to make a monthly budget, piece of cake.

I am mostly going back to California on leave after deployment is over to chill with my family and do fun California things.
That's good to know. I have seen it do that to people, and I feel like I need to grow up now.
