I was idly browsing my brigade's facebook page when I came across pictures of my task force, specifically of the flight line I work at.
This is the helicopter I am assigned, taxiing to the launch pad.

good shit, cleared hot
Interesting to see an aircraft with skids taxi. Where is there an Army airfield in the metro Atlanta area? A week or so ago a flight a three Apaches rattled my windows.

Yeah, they bring the aircraft to a hover, and hover down the taxiway to the runway. Also, the closest Army airfield I can think of would be Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah.

I never got the point of a taxi for take-off, but do heli's have a separate stripe for take-off/landing? Out of the 6 bases that I've been to none of them had heli's.

The helicopter flight line links to the main runway, and there is only one runway. You need to taxi to the runway because the pilots need to get some forward airspeed going in order for it to be easier to gain altitude, as well as to enter the traffic pattern. My helicopter doesn't take too well to lifting straight off, as it would be very easy to overtorque the transmission and main rotor mast.
Savanna is about three hours from me, so that is possible. The only thing I like about NASCAR are the flybys that go over my house en route to Atlanta Motor Speedway. Oh, and your helicopter is beautiful.

Thanks man, nice to see someone else appreciates it.
Anyone in the RAF?
Anyone in the RAF?
I haven't met anyone on Facepunch who's in the RAF. I could be wrong though.
Suite mate finally turned 21 today..despite bragging about it at work today, he managed to get drunk off of 3 bud lights and recited the opening lines off of the "Powerpuff Girls"
Guaranteed the Major will find out about this tomorrow due to the multiple complaints from his "rude behavior"
I think it's time for a new callsign Pinky. If anyone has any good ideas feel free to shoot me a message. I'll be sure he gets pinned with something stupid.

Call him Bubbles or Buttercup.
What would be a good starting workout to prepare for enlistment?
Is Navy OCS PT the same as Navy Basic PT?
What would be a good starting workout to prepare for enlistment?
Work on your run time, pushups, and situps. That will help out a bunch. The military focuses heavily on endurance.

I'm gonna take the ASVAB for the firt time tomorrow. Wish me luck guys, hoping for a score high enough for the navy.

Here's a pic of the place I stayed in. Real 5 star hotel in there. Real fun recreational things to do such as filling sand bags, digging trenches, stringing C-wire, and standing post. Houses approximately 12 people.

Anyone have tips for getting in shape for the Army physical? I might be talking to a recruiter soon and I want to make sure I'm prepared ahead of time
I know I have to get back into push-ups, sit-ups and running, but should I take rest days in between? And should I do any resistance training at all? I'm wondering what you guys might have done to shed some pounds. Thanks.
We've got a 2 star visiting the dorm monday. We're spending the day trying to strip off all the excess paint on one of the sidewalks, because whoever painted a railing did so like a adhd kindergartner on crack.

Don't believe it, it's bullshit. He will never come. They say that just to make an excuse to make you clean.

Well that was nerve racking, I forgot to study the night before and there was a rule for no calculators on the test. I suck at math.
Hopefully everything went good, I think I did well on the other 6 subjects.

I dunno, considering the Wing, Group, and Squadron commanders, along with their deputies, paid a visit while we were working on it for a dry run, along with all the other preperation we've done(posted biography, designated door holders, etc), I'm willing to bet he'll be here.
Also, the paint didnt really come off much. There were still a few guys workin on it when we went to PT, so I havent seen it yet.

I'd give you a 90% chance that the General's plans will change, or he gets sidetracked with another part of the base. Who's the General?

I bet you.........$10 or something.......that he will not come.

What no, calculators?
What no, calculators?
We weren't allowed personal clocks either.
I know, it's stupid.

I thought it wasn't timed.
But its 9th grade math right ? Y=X+B and other shit, shouldn't be hard to do in your head.
So after being on a waiver for 7 months for a spinal injury, I took a self test on push-ups and sit-ups. My count 3 weeks ago was (26 p-u's, and 39 s-u's *1min each). After working out on my own for that 3 week period, I tested today at (42 p-u's, and 55 s-u's *1min each). I still managed to make the same run time from bmt as well. I'm so happy now :) Not too bad for a desk jockey.
So hopefully ill be talking to a recruiter in a few days/weeks (I need to call and inquire about that), Ill be talking to the Navy, regarding Corpsman, so anything i should know from the navy cool-cats on here?
