Eagle Scouts, CAP, or even referring a few friends to a recruiter right? I know I'm missing a whole other list.
Eh, I enjoyed JROTC. It got me PFC, and I enjoyed being on the honor guard. It was easy but oh man, the drama. High school was stupid.
All of the other cpls in JROTC, with the exception of 2, were fucking annoying, and I hated them the whole time.
lol jrotc rank
If only it could carry over :(

If it did I would be have been a Sergeant Major when I enlisted. That would have been hilarious.
Talkin' bout JROTC here bud.
HAH oh God.
Have you seen those upstarts? They look like Soviets with all those medals.

Shit, I woulda been a Colonel.
That said, i enjoyed JROTC. We had a good unit that had only been around a few years, and both of our instructors were really cool people. Hell, the chief is my idol. Had a couple piss poor command staffs though(mine included)
I found put that my 6 credits of AP classes and the 15 hours I did this semister means I could enlist and be an E-2 after basic!

Or you could be an E-3 if you sign up for six years.
Would it be better to do six on the off chance it isn't for me, or try four and sign on again if I love it?
I signed for 4 years because I was going into an "experimental specialty", so I really didn't know anything about it. If you find out more about your job while in Basic then you'll have the option to extend it an extra 2 years before you graduate.
If you don't think that career field is right for you then you can cross train, or get out with an honorable discharge.

I think they do. I read that 20 college credits gets you E-2 and 45 gets E-3
I think they do. I read that 20 college credits gets you E-2 and 45 gets E-3
well, most AP credits get you like what? 6 credits for most college(lower-end colleges at least with a 3, it goes up if you get a 4 or 5), so i mean, i would have 48 hours since i would have 8 credits when i get out.
Sweet.
I got E-2 out of bootcamp just because of what my rate is.
Hooyah 6 year contract..
Is anyone fully CDE certified? I just finished AFP4 and I'm heading to advanced CDE class on Monday, so I was wondering if anyone had any tips.
C'mon, Navy. Don't fail us now!
Dammit. Friggin' Navy.
Hooyah! 11 years running!

Exactly I never joined JROTC but I still plan on joining the Army when I turn 17.
Would enlisting because my first semester of college blew horsecock and I hate my life be considered "joining for the wrong reasons"

Well, that is up to people's opinions, but in my personal opinion I believe that joining just because college sucked is a poor reason. However, if you are joining because college sucked and you realized that it is not for you, but still want to make something of yourself, then I say go for it, if you are prepared to endure more hardship than you will find at college, and prepared to accept a large amount of responsibility and duty.

Heh, I've heard worse reasons.

I know. I thought it would be like Call of Duty. Fucking bullshit. :v:
'Pay for college.' -Privates that joined active army.
Tomorrow I begin my running sessions. 1.5 miles as fast as I can. I foresee lots of pain. I will post my time for all to laugh at afterwards
My whole life I never thought I would be in a class that teaches the fundamentals of targeting human shields. So much math behind saving the human shields from fragmentation, it's unreal.
