I stood on one of those Dr. Scholls machines and found out i have low arches, or "flat feet". Never been to a doctor about them, though I can have foot pain, but they never hurt worse than my legs or shins while running. Would this be a problem?

No, the military gives you shoes based on your foot arch. Boots are all standard though. It should not be a problem, unless you make it one.
Just get some insoles for your boots.
I have been diagnosed with both athsma and ADHD, is there any way that I can serve the military?
As long as you dont say anything about it. It's incredibly illegal, but its how I got in. I had asthma, tourette-syndrome, took adderall for a year cause of ADD and OCD. I lied about all of it and got in. But being in the Army is shitty when you have asthma lol.

The shoes I were issued had nothing to do with the arch of my foot. They said "whats your size" and then threw them on top of all the rest of the shit you were holding while getting stuff issued.
Maybe that's just the Corps.
I can answer some questions about Infantry Training if anyone has them. I'm on Christmas leave then I go back for my 0331 Machine Gunner Training.

Being dishonest about your medical history ultimately does more harm than good. I can't tell you how many people I have to do an emergent medevac on because their past medical history becomes too big of a problem for my command. It wastes so many resources on so many levels.

Yep, that is pretty much how it goes. Also, the NCO's will have contests to see how creatively they can fuck with you.

The first time you do pushups to their timing is something you remember :v:
I just went to a doc today after a shooting accident on a range nearby a couple days ago, and I was wondering if I am eligible for disability pay for being 90% deaf in one ear and 40% in the other. A kid shot a black powder pistol on a cold line, and my hearing protection was off at the time.
Handed in my application for officers training in the royal armoured core about a week ago. Physically I'm in fine condition thanks to boxing about 4 times a week, I can do the required standards in the fitness part with ease. And I'm eligible with my grades and degree. Only thing I'm concerned about is that I don't motivate myself enough..

I wouldn't see why...the reason you were disabled wasn't due to any fault of the military :/

Make sure to accurately document that in every subsequent medical visit regardless.
I'm actually considering joining the French Foreign legion once I turn 18..

My dad is getting disability from sleep apnea though. Oh well it will be interesting telling my supervisor when I get back. I should show up back to work hearing aids in both of my ears just to freak them out, but they're so damn expensive

Not really the same thing, but I managed to get 10% disability for hearing. Just make sure to get it documented in your medical record somehow. For me, they gave me the benefit of the doubt because I was near gunfire and explosions on a regular basis, and I assume it would have been to hard to document every single incident. They officially diagnosed me with 'Tinitus' even though my regular hearing test was normal. Just food for thought.
Oh and I get $123 a month for the rest of my life from the gov, so I can't complain. :v:
going into service January 7th, Finnish Defense Force, Communications Regiment

Have you started AOSB?
I took a practice ASVAB at the recruitment office today, and it said i would get an asvab score of an 80 on the actual test.
How good is that? Since the focus of the interview/discussion i had with the recruiter never touched on the ASVAB as it was a "get to know you" type discussion.
I feel like i could do a shit ton better since i sort of blew through it with upwards of 4 minutes left over on some sections.
If you take your time and check all of your work, you can easily get an AFQT in the 90's. However, what you should be concerned with is your GT score. Make sure it is 110 or higher.
I feel like if i study (brush up on my math, since i've been using calculator for the last 5 years, along with all of its awesome functions), and took the test more seriously, i would be able to raise that score dramatically.

Hopefully my Briefing will come up soon after the new year. Shouldn't really be too much of an issue, Main Board is concerning me a little.
You started the paperwork? It is an arse.
My friend went to Ft. Jackson for Basic.
He's selling his Fire Guard shifts for 5 bucks.

We did something like that. Except we traded CQ shifts for wrist watches and cough drops. They were like candy, and everyone was sick til week 6.
Oh and the Air Force is going to pay for my hearing aids, AND DISABILITY PAY YO! :D (at least that's what they said over the phone)
Now I will be able to hear stuff other than low frequencies. Dubstep sounds 10 times better than ever though. Trying to make the best of it at the moment.

Think they might give ya a medical discharge or would you be able to stay in?

To be honest I'm not sure. My job doesn't require hearing at all actually. I'm stuck in a dark room with noise cancelling headphones looking at 3d images whilst typing in a chatroom. No face to face interaction at all lol.
But that won't stop them if they really want me out.

Sounds like what 90% of the user base of this forum does.
So my uncle got back from Afghanistan and he was telling me how awesome the German Army DFACs are.
They bake their own bread. :v:
