boo fucking hoo. 30fps is easily playable. people are way too spoiled nowadays.
This must be some very well disguised alt
mafia 3 runs at 30fps boo hoo cry me a river dip shits I'm LUCKY if I can get a new game to to run at 30fps or higher

boo fucking hoo. 30fps is easily playable. people are way too spoiled nowadays.
Ah, paying good money for a product and expecting it to work properly is being spoiled. what
boo fucking hoo. 30fps is easily playable. people are way too spoiled nowadays.
But not acceptable if you're running a fucking 1060+ or 980/ti. People pay big bucks to play at higher framerates and locking it down like this is just a huge slap in the face
boo fucking hoo. 30fps is easily playable. people are way too spoiled nowadays.
If my computer has the capability to render it with 200 FPS, then I better damn well be able to play the game at that, instead of some hardcoded in-game limitation dictating what's permitted and what's not. This is a lazy & hacky solution to a massive problem where they took the easiest 'lol guess it's good enough' solution instead of tackling it properly, which in turn ended up being a problem in itself.
boo fucking hoo. 30fps is easily playable. people are way too spoiled nowadays.
That's totally arbitrary and clearly a lot of people think otherwise
boo fucking hoo. 30fps is easily playable. people are way too spoiled nowadays.
I expect to buy a game and have it perform well theres literally no reason a game should be locked at 30 on PC outside of incompetent devs. so why should I pay for a game that is? It's less of a product because of the lock. I don't expect my car to be locked at 40 mph even though its engine can make it to 180 mph I don't expect my monitor to be upcaled from 1080p even though it displays that it can go to 2160p I don't expect my vacuum to be capped at 5 pounds of suction force, even though its motor is capable of 10. So why is it that its ok for Mafia 3 to be capped at 720p and 30 fps when my computer can run it at 60+ in 4k
You can tell how much love a PC port gets by it's anti-aliasing options. Do you get either High, Low, or Off, etc or do you get proper MSAA, FXAA, SMAA choices from none to 2x, 4x, 8x, etc
It's only High, Medium & Low.
other devs would have just left the game at 30fps and leave it to the community to do something, it's great that they're actually going to do something instead of saying fuck it
Their QA team sucks because this shouldn't have been a problem to begin with. If there's anything wrong with your game and you decide to just release it anyway you're shooting yourself in the foot. [editline]8th October 2016[/editline]
boo fucking hoo. 30fps is easily playable. people are way too spoiled nowadays.
Guess we should go back to 4:3 CRT televisions as well eh? ~it's easily playable~
boo fucking hoo. 30fps is easily playable. people are way too spoiled nowadays.
Yeah ikr, isn't it awful that I want to play games at the highest possible quality on my PC that I spent all this money on. So spoilt wanting the products I buy to meet industry standards.
Yeah ikr, isn't it awful that I want to play games at the highest possible quality on my PC that I spent all this money on. So spoilt wanting the products I buy to meet industry standards.
no way man, the world doesnt revolve around you and your 'monster rig' lmao
no way man, the world doesnt revolve around you and your 'monster rig' lmao
Just like the world doesn't revolve around people who think |*~30 fps is perfect~*|
boo fucking hoo. 30fps is easily playable. people are way too spoiled nowadays.
yeah right, expecting a AAA to meet some standards in pc gaming? how dare you!?
The only reasons for having an arbitrary 30 FPS cap on PC are that the game is a bad port and runs like complete ass on systems that should be able to max it, the game is a bad port and they were too lazy to take off the console cap, or the engine is just badly designed.
no way man, the world doesnt revolve around you and your 'monster rig' lmao
This was sarcasm for those that don't seem to get it.
no way man, the world doesnt revolve around you and your 'monster rig' lmao
monster rig? the game is ugly as fuck comparing to current gen games, but it still has a cap. Most of the time that points to shitty optimization or tying the world's geometry to the framerate.

30 FPS for a game like Mafia 3 is unacceptable. Heck, I'd say it's unacceptable for any games nowadays.
-Of course people missread-
I'm gonna try to replicate this but For whatever reason, DOOM 4 at 30FPS feels, okaish smooth, not that great but good enough to not be a powerpoint presentation, yet the last time I tried L4D2 it felt like assss and I don't know why
The 30 fps is super consistent. Hopefully the patch is out soon but the games not ruined
After playing every game I own at 120, I feel ill if I play a game at 30
no way man, the world doesnt revolve around you and your 'monster rig' lmao
If it were a a small team Indie game that would've been a acceptable stance, but a Triple-A developer? you gotta be shitposting.
I get that there is reason to be upset Maybe you guys who are as upset as you are don't see the over reaction but whatever It's not like I'll be listened to by the people who think everything is shit
60FPS patch has been released, as expected the port is terrible. Everything set as low as possible, framerate jumps between 60 and 40, tons of stuttering present. (as I've said, this on an i5 4690 + GTX 1070) thank god for Steam refunds

The real pressing issue with the game is The lighting is fucked because the reflections are fucked. The mirrors are obvious examples. Go find the big rig that has "WATER" written down the side of it. It's chrome all over. Drive down the street. What do you see? Not the reflections of the buildings beside you. The reflection of things as if it was just the things in front of you, even though the mirror is parralel to that direction. Swivel the camera. Boom, there's the building, in the straight on reflection but somethings not right about them either.

It's like they have a cubemap (or multiple) depending on what should be reflecting, but they opted to update it every several seconds (probably for performance or some shit) rather than a choppy reflection framerate or even a real-time one. Which is ridiculous since water reflections clearly are much smoother and real-time, but they can't seem to have object reflections work right. It's like Watch_Dogs, except arguably worse because instead of an unfitting image, you have a proper one that keeps going off the mark.
Just like the world doesn't revolve around people who think |*~30 fps is perfect~*|
umm the human eye cant see past 30 fps idiot get ur head screwed back on mate :badzing: [editline]9th October 2016[/editline]
Everytime I see people pop up on Steam, playing first day release games, I just cringe.
There are plenty of devs who launch games insanely well first day dark souls 3 was perfect for me, so was gta5 and even fallout 4. I had no issues with any of them tbh

I feel like FPS locks discriminate against me as a 144hz monitor user.

As if the publishers (and I also assume the developers) are completely incapable of learning from past mistakes, both then they themselves made them, and when other publishers and developers made them.
