ITT, people who will D'AWWWWWWWW when they have their first kid, despite what they say.
I think I'd freak the fuck out. A kind of "no going back now!" feeling.
Damn I love these discussions.
Lets get one thing straight so people have a harder time trying to pull bullshit excuses on me.
I AM GREEDY. I AM SELFISH. I DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THE REST OF HUMANITY. I ONLY CARE ABOUT MYSELF AND THE FEW PEOPLE WITH SOME REAL EMOTIONAL CONNECTION TO ME.
Go ahead, call me a heartless bastard. Call me an evil prick. I don't give a damn. Because while you're out being self-righteous idiots, I'm going to be sitting around happily not bothering with some fucking task that ultimately contributes nothing of real value to me. A lover contributes real emotions and enjoyable times for your entire life. Friends contribute good times and entertainment for long periods of times, and possibly your whole life. Babies can occasionally contribute some interesting times or a few benefits but the vast majority will give you hell. You can choose your friends and you can choose your lover, but you can't choose your kids. To put it in perspective, lets play some internet slots http://www.internetslots.org/. Now, tell me how often you hit a jackpot. Probably not very often. A person may eventually hit one, but how many times do you have to go through fuck up after fuck up, just to finally get lucky and get that one miracle?
I don't care about continuing my bloodline. Once I'm dead and gone, I couldn't care if the whole damned planet blew the fuck up unless they could develop a way to bring me back without any repercussions to myself. What the fuck difference does it make to me? 99.99% of you out there I DON'T KNOW OR GIVE A DAMN ABOUT. What happens to you makes no difference to me so long as it doesn't hurt me in some way. In the 18+ years I spend taking care of a child, playing the slot machine of life, hoping to hit that jackpot, I could be bettering my own life. While it is still hard to predict what will happen in my life, I at least have a lot more control over what happens than I do with some little fuckhead.
Also, the "Its instinct to breed." argument is perhaps the most idiotic and asinine one of them all. The base instinct of all life is to breed. But you know what happens? WE EVOLVE PAST IT. The more intelligent you are, the less reliant on instinct you are because you no longer need them to live and can function beyond it. So if you are going on instinct, you are pretty fucking stupid. Pure and simple. You can't think beyond the basic programming in your subconscious. You never developed mentally enough to actually be able to work independently. So I suppose I could make the argument that those of you saying you should like and/or have babies are just trying to obscure the fact that you are brain-dead shitheads.
Also, just so there is at least ONE "light" side in this. I spend 10 years taking care of and raising who goes on to win a small little marathon to raise money for his school instead of working and training and exercising. Congratulation, little Billy Shitpants just raised $107 for his school. Or, I spend 10 years without the kid and exercise and train and work since I have the time and go on the win a major marathon to raise money for some major cause such as finding a cure for diabetes or breast cancer or global poverty. Hey, I just raised hundreds of thousands, possibly millions, of dollars to fund a far reaching and truly beneficial project that could change the world and make the lives of everyone better. Seems like the latter is a lot more productive and better for the human race than the primary.
FUCK YOU IM NOT HAVING CHILDREN ARRRRRRR

I have baby cause i want save human race
i hate babies that stare at you
When I'm with a baby I want to play with it (it usually ends up beating me up). When I'm not, I hate them.
i hate babies that stare at you
WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU LOOKING AT?!... punk?
I want to have a baby because:

You want to save the human race. As if it were ever in danger in the first place.
I don't blame you, I can't stand babies.
Even pregnant women disgust me, and having
children doesn't seem glamorous at all.
I've personally had nightmares about being pregnant :|
I'd imagine your opinion would be a little different if it was your son/daughter. They are a pain but, hating the baby, is a little excessive.
if it was mine id put that little fucker up for adoption asap.
im so not going to raise someone cause they're gonna turn out fucked up anyways
Well on the bright side, they can become uper rich and give you money and take care of you
You're forgetting that to make more adults, you have to make more babies.
How the fuck do you forget about reproduction? How else would the human race live on?
Well on the bright side, they can become uper rich and give you money and take care of you
So you can go through 18+ years trying to raise a kid so they can become rich and powerful. Well, if you have the capability to do that, in half the time, you could probably do that yourself, and you have more control over what happens, not just blind faith and luck. If you can't do it yourself, then you have even less chance of getting a kid to do it. So, that idea is counter-productive.
You're forgetting that to make more adults, you have to make more babies.

there's 7 billion people on this planet, it's overpopulated as fuck
ill let someone else repopulate. im doing my part by not overpopulating the world with more demon spawn
You're forgetting that to make more adults, you have to make more babies.

Read my previous post for the full reason, but to sum it up: Who gives a damn? The human race isn't going to die off because I don't have a kid. Hell, if half the current population of the Earth didn't have a kid, we'd still be fine. And like I said, I don't fucking care what happens to the human race after I die unless they can find a way to bring me back.
[editline]10:09PM[/editline]
And hell, if we can perfect cloning, that is even better. You could continue the human race and NEVER need to have a kid.
Grow up people, you haven't had a kid of your own, you don't know what its like.
So STFU and do something other than talking about why you hate/love babies.

This man is more honest than pretty much most of the people who think that everyone has to love babies.
The argument that says "Oh, you haven't had one so you don't know what's it like" is even scarier.
What if I have one because I figure "Oh, Once I have one, I'll like it" and then I hate the fucking thing (and yes - that is possible, aside from what some of you seem to think) How horrible is that? I'd have to raise a child I hate... And I can't bullshit my entire life and fake love. Basically I'd fuck up my kid for life - so what kind of a shitty argument is that?
Maybe not specifically babies, but I have a small dislike towards children that behave badly, cry on planes, or run around breaking stuff. I was raised well, and I never did those kinds of things.

Same - I'd like to think I'm well mannered and very friendly. I make friends very easily and I'm just an easygoing kind of guy most of the time...
I like babies because I like to think they represent the miracle of life.
I like babies because I like to think they represent the miracle of life.
What miracle? Life is not any miracle... It's something that happens multiple times everyday. life and birth are not miracles - not even close. They are a part of nature like eating, sleeping, and thinking. If those aren't miracles - neither is birth...

although I disagree with the term miracle, he is right.
imagine the chances of life beginning, then imagine the chance of our evolution resulting in us, then imagine the possibilities of your particular genes "coming together" (your parents meeting etc.)
then imagine the chance of your birth, then the chance of you being brought up to be the morally superior idiot you are today.
think about it. the chance of you existing is incredible.

Although you're insults make your argument childish, I will consider the rest. No, the chances are not incredible. Many people have a very odd inability to consider the real amount of time the universe has been around. Yes a 1 in a million chance sounds ridiculous - except when you consider that there are 4.5 billion years involved. And considering how little we do know about our universe - it's stupid to assume we're all special little flowers because we turned out the way we did. It's not a miracle, or incredible. It's just chance. Chance that happened at this moment in time, that has probably passed hundreds of times because it's had the time to do so.
In any case, we digress.

Limulus is right. The chances that you happened to be born are incredible. The chances for anyone are.
My friends and I were just talking about this the other day.

Wouldn't the rest just contradict what the first sentence said, and vice-versa?

Miracles and tragedies are really bad terms to use. Luck, fate, religion, superstition, and karma play no part in your everyday life, they're just scapegoats and silly beliefs made by humans who are - guess what - based solely in the physical sense. Everything is else is in theory. But I repeat, this is not what the thread is about.

I'll make this simple. I exist because I've had billions of chances to, not because this is the only one.
I like babies
