Go do live EA support chat and say you got a xbox one key and want a PC one since you dont own a Xbox One, they will more than likely give you one.
You don't even have to do that, I just straight up asked for beta access because I really wanted to try it and they just gave it to me. Apparently it worked for most people who tried that.
It's kind of like two games of CoD being played at once, except one is slower paced, 6 meters taller and considerably more fun.
Once you start weaving the freedom of movement and fluid wallrunning into your strategy, the pilot battles are actually EXCEPTIONALLY fun.
If you stay boots on the ground all the time, it's a bit boring. But if you play it right, the pilot combat can be just as fantastic as the titan combat.
So many people claim its just a CoD clone with mech killstreaks which is just stupid, and I'm not going to bother going into all the reasons why. BUT, while it isn't a clone, the similarities are there. It takes the formula that the guys at Respwan helped perfect years ago, and actually pulled it out of the rut on rehashed reskinned sequels. Instead they actually took it somewhere new. It's a fantastic, polished, and most importantly INCREDIBLY FUN, progression of the twitch shooter genre, which has sadly been stagnant since CoD4 because too many developers have wanted to make the next CoD by... well... Copying CoD. This one stands out as actually bringing something new to the table.
Honestly this is the least source looking source game I've seen.
I'd say it looks kinda like MW2 on low settings, except for the sharp textures
It is a bad thing. CoD style FPS' has been completely done to death. Throwing in a few gimmicks isn't going to freshen it up at all.
Except it has so you're wrong.

except the freerunning and maps completely shift the vertical combat and speed while getting rid of spawn killing. youre really ignorant if you say this is exactly CoD, and this is someone that played the shit out of all of them till ghosts.
that HUD screams COD
that HUD screams COD
It's made by ex-Infinity Ward devs, so that's hardly surprising.
I've yet to see a thread about this game that isn't 90% COD discussion

The Titanfall thread v:v:v

The mechanized combat looks pretty fresh.. But I don't think ANYTHING is going to offset that run and gun CoD crap.

It's a good thing Titanfall isn't a CoD style FPS then huh.
Why CoD seriously?
It's obviously running on source engine :v:

Imagine a big ERROR smashing the other mechs
Despite signing up for the beta the on the day I haven't got an email yet, so I quickly checked how much I could buy the game for when it's out...
£45 on PC and £55 on Xbone and XB360!
The mechanized combat looks pretty fresh.. But I don't think ANYTHING is going to offset that run and gun CoD crap.
as far as I've figured out, only the gun feel is like Call of Duty, but I think that the whole low recoil/fast gunplay works when you combine it with jetpacks and parkour.
I like how camping has been basically killed off in this game since you have to keep moving usually.
The whole game basically makes players have to be confrontational whereas FPS's like CoD and Battlefield you can hide and camp for ages.
Sure titanfall looks great and plays good but what i worry about is the content.
When playing the beta i feel like there will no be enough at launch.
6v6 + ai's. sure it is odd but it works. To bad you have to kill the ai "creeps" to lower the cooldown on the titan.
it really is a hit & miss in my opinion.
I really don't see the problem with this feeling like CoD.
If you actually use wallrunning it plays completely different - and there are plenty of games that pretty much play like their prior versions but with slight changes. Baring the gravity gun, HL2 basically plays the same as HL1 did (even has weapons that pretty much function exactly the same)
I fail to see how this is any different, or how this makes it bad. Tribes Ascend was great for a while, and yet nobody but hardcore fans complained about how it was literally Tribes 2 with better graphics and more streamlined (and less balanced) gameplay.
Hell, every single Halo game feels like a prettier version of the prior game with different weapons and a couple of new additions too.

it uses the same hud practically, a lot of shit has been copied over from CoD 4, or the way that it feels to play.
yes if you use wall running it'll become different, but quite honestly, that and mechs is the only differentiating thing in this game. It doesn't look that new or fresh or exciting. Sure it will be for the first couple of weeks, maybe. Then it'll slowly phase out and the excitement will be gone, it'll just be a running shooter like CoD, kill as many people as you can, avoid team work, gain reward and upgrade.
That's the way I see it, it may be pessimistic, but I don't see much optimism coming out of the beta testers.
I had my doubts but this looks like a lot of fun.

You seem to think the Titans are some minor mechanic that you can just ignore, but in reality it changes the dynamics of the gameplay drastically.

You are generalizing way too much - you could make the same comparison and say battlefield plays like CoD the way you compare them, "if you use vehicles it becomes different, but you still run around and shoot people"
It's up to the team to use teamwork. No matter how much a game tries unless you only want to appeal to people who want to put the effort in every time you play, a lot of people are going to run and gun.
And how is the HUD even similar? aside from the layout (which most games are similar to cod's anyway) it looks pretty different. Again, there's more difference between this game and call of duty 4 then there is between half-life and HL2, or the halo games.
I'm really not seeing anything in your argument that makes the game bad, it seems to be "it's too much like CoD 4" which isn't even a bad thing, and "it won't have teamwork" which you cannot objectively say will be the case - and even if it is you can still play with people that want to work together.

From the other thread
The only people who say the game plays like CoD are:
1) People who haven't played the game
2) People who played the game wrong

I don't see much optimism coming out of the beta testers.
This isn't true at all. The game has actually quite a bit of optimism and the beta is proving to be a massive hit. It beat League of Legends on Twitch for viewers the day the beta went live. Everyone who has actually played the game, and played it right, has enjoyed it.
