They're vaguely aware that the trolls exist, but believe they're just thugs working for people in and around Chris' neighborhood. The most concern either one of them has shown about Chris' activities is when he uploaded a tour of his trashheap of a home, which Bob feared would get their house condemned. Barb's in bad shape, but not because of trolls. Her husband is dead, her younger son is unemployed and mentally unsound, her older son (Chris' half brother) has not been on good terms with her since he was a child, and her stepchildren (children from Bob's previous marriage, whom are all pretty normal) don't know anything about her. On top of that she doesn't have much money and she may or may not have some form of cancer.

Chris Chan was diagnosed with autism but I wouldn't be surprised if there's more going on in there than just autism, we have no way of knowing conclusively because during his upbringing his parents believed in seeking psychiatric help from their local church rather than a licensed psychiatrist who could actually help him. To this day Chris is adverse to getting medical attention for anything (mental or physical) until it either heals on its own or gets bad enough to be life threatening. See: 1) His "clit" piercing that created an infected abscess wound which Chris convinced himself was a vagina in the early stages of forming. 2) His crooked dick which is probably the result of him fracturing his corpus spongiosum in a masturbatory session, and rather than go to the hospital to get it splinted and bled just ignored it and let it heal crooked. I'm surprised he hasn't died already from some preventable infection or disease.

Chris was always a violent little fucknugget of a person, long before his days of internet infamy had begun. And even in the earliest days of the Encyclopedia Dramatica circle of torment he was already deranged as fuck. In order to prove he wasn't gay he drew a picture of himself fingering his only IRL friend (Megan mentioned above) while giving a thumbs up because in Chris' mind a drawing makes for utter undeniable proof, and then uploaded it on the internet for all to see. And when she confronted him about it he said he would probably rape her and that was the point where she called it quits.

In appearance she's a victim of circumstance that is under constant pressure and gave in to her autistic dipshit son. In reality, she's one of the most prevalent reasons why Chris is the way he is, and has shown just as much stubbornness in keeping the disgusting status quo as her offspring. She's a massive hoarder who absolutely refused to throw [I]anything[/I] away for the longest time, and while the tendency has bled onto Chris, she remains the primary reason why their house caught on fire. Worst part is, her pathological hoarding not only caused their house to burn but also prevented the fire crew from helping in time which drastically increased the damage, and the first thing she did was accuse the firemen of not doing a good enough job [I]and[/I] of stealing her stuff instead of helping out. On a lesser note they're currently in massive financial trouble and is so sheltering of Chris and incapable of putting her foot down for even one minute that she's sold most of her own stuff while allowing her son to play with expensive toys on camera. Chris could alleviate a significant portion of their financial issues if he sold most of his toy collection (and stopped buying new shit all the time), but she's too stubborn to do anything about it. And last but certainly not fucking least, she assisted him in vehicular slaughter. That's the point where it becomes obvious she's not just being manipulated or stopped caring but is actively still enabling her son to be an irresponsible cunt just like she is.
