It's simple. Our destruction of the environment is taking it's toll on local species. Considering the way we treat our planet (protip: gulf oil spill anyone?) it doesn't come as much surprise they are dying off by the thousands/millions.
if that were the case it would be gradual
this is happening over night, literally
HAH!
The world isn't going to end in 2012, it's going to end in 2011! Y- well shit, this is disappointing.
AT LEAST I WAS RIGHT!
Since the weather is getting cooler and cooler,I think we should teach the animals to wear jackets, also teach team to drink more water and don't stay in the sunshine for too long when it is summer.
Somebody has made an animal death map: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&t=h&source=embed&hl=en&oe=UTF8&msa=0&msid=201817256339889828327.0004991bca25af104a22b
Aren't the magnetic poles due to switch soon?

Sometime in 2012, actually.
Migrating birds nearly dead due to exhaustion are killed by stress from the fireworks
Fish die due to the weather, food, what have you. It's common.
Now because the birds die, people look for other instances of mass death. They see the dead fish which isn't too uncommon and somehow link them. Then people look for completely unrelated mass deaths (which would have gone completely ignored if it wasn't for the original bird deaths) and somehow attribute it to some ancient prophecy even though this shit is common.
Indeed. Add a dollop of confirmation bias, an unhealthy dose of paranoia, and a psychologically pleasing, warm feeling that "I am smart, I cracked this super secret conspiracy!" on top of that, and one has the average conspiracy theorist.
Yep, plus we also have the ability to "see" patterns that don't exist. The same we we see shapes in the stars, conspiracy theorists can "see" the most unimportant things and make them matter. For example in a photograph taken at an assassination these theorists will see things such as what a random bystander is wearing or what type of trees are nearby and make a "conclusion" based on this random and meaningless data.
My friend said his dog and at least 7 of his other friends were throwing up, I am a little concerned at the moment :ohdear:
Paranoia is the answer.
It's a cold winter. I hardly see any reason to completely flip out.
This my good sirs and ma'ams.
Yesterday I was walking home and there was a dead rat on the pavement.
Todady when I was walking to school there was a cat spasming in the middle of the same road, it had been hit by a car and was holding up traffic. My friend picked it up and put it on the side of the road.
Is it the apocalypse?

This.
It's probably happened a lot in the past, just getting attention now thanks to the ease of news and information travelling.
I don't know if it matters, but I heard on the new yesterday that birds in Illinois have been dropping dead and no one can figure out why.
(Saw footage, hundreds of dead birds just lying dead on the side of the road)

Yeah so it can fucking eat you
I hope cats don't die next. :frown:
I don't want the world to end.
I don't want to die when I haven't even lived yet.
The birds that died had signs of physical trauma on them. The fish in the US had parasites/toxins in them that are naturally found. The other animals seem to have died from some very loud sound (fireworks, jets, etc.) It's all natural, and there's evidence supporting it.
