ratings disabled lmfao.
called it
All it needs now is a take down notice from one of the companies whose game in is the trailer.
Steam does not need shitty TV commercials like this one.
Wait, what? Is it seriously a TV commercial? If so, I wonder whose great idea was to put on a clip from Crysis 2 where Alcatraz snaps someone's neck.
Only thing appealing in that commercial was being able to broadcast what you're playing so your friends can watch you play but that's about it.

Which game is displayed at 1:03? The woman drinking a drink while staring at the monster?
Comments and ratings disabled. EA's butthurt is reaching critical levels.
they showed darksiders 2, six times
Niiiice. [editline]31st August 2012[/editline] Also, video reported as scam/fraud.
Yeah because they're committing fraud. Oh wait. They're not. [editline]31st August 2012[/editline] The commercial itself is a little boring/pointless, but I've never had problems with Origin. I think it's a perfectly capable distribution service.
I like how they instantly disabled comments and ratings
Are there even any non-EA games on origin at all?

Over 21 million people have experienced Origin
I bet you 10 bucks that half of those were forced to use it because you can't play certain games without it.
I bet a lot of those are people with EA accounts who got automatically added to Origin. If so, that line is false advertising. [editline]1[/editline] Showing the games they can't sell is also false advertising. [editline]2[/editline] Nevermind about the copyright infringement. Edited my post.

[editline]1[/editline] Also, showing the games they don't have rights to sell is false advertising and copyright infringement.
What games there do they not have the rights to sell?
What games there do they not have the rights to sell?
Like people already pointed out, L4D, Portal 2, the Sims. [editline]1[/editline] Okay, I thought the valve/EA partnership ended after the orange box. And I didn't hear Maxis got bought out by EA, what a shame.
Like people already pointed out, L4D, Portal 2, the Sims.
I thought they own the sims
Like people already pointed out, L4D, Portal 2, the Sims.
They have every right to sell those. They are Valve's official retail publisher. [editline]31st August 2012[/editline] Same with the sims.
I wonder how much money they spend on this horrible commercial. I hope a lot.
The guy in the video had the biggest smug ass expression ever.
I wonder how much money they spend on this horrible commercial. I hope a lot.
All the money saved from laying off PopCap employees would have been used on the ad.

Most of the games it shows (multiple times) are published by EA, and by extension are Origin games. The entire point of that "advert" was to point out Origin is more than that PC client people hate for dumb reasons. And to show that it is now expanding, replacing the myriad of shit that EA used to use for their networked games.

I've actually never had problems with EADM or Origin. I've had to wipe Steam off my hard drive 5 times now and it freezes up any time I go from the store page to community or quit out of a game or load during a game. I don't get that with Origin. Its actually better.

Then an update comes out and it completely breaks every source game for me. Unplayable. Support messages me back a few times with the same old "restart your pc" and "make sure you are meeting the requirements." Then they just stop responding altogether. First experience with origin support, had a credit card issue trying to buy crysis 2. 10 minutes later I have Crysis and Crysis 2 in my library, free of charge. They've always helped me fast and efficiently.

It's just, with EA, people focus a lot more on the bad stuff because of some other things they've done, such as DRM and the destruction of beloved companies (Westwood, Pandemic). As for the Steam vs. Origin argument, I think people are worrying more about the entire idea of Origin rather than the actual program. I mean, another digital distribution network when you already have Steam? It seems rather pointless if you think about it, although I know where EA was going with that.
I've had to wipe Steam off my hard drive 5 times now and it freezes up any time I go from the store page to community or quit out of a game or load during a game.
That doesn't sound normal at all. Steam works perfectly for me. Are you sure there isn't an underlying issue?
step one: report video to valve step two: valve blocks it due to copyright
EA needs to just give up.
step one: report video to valve step two: valve blocks it due to copyright
It's not copyright. They have a contract. EA has the rights to publish, advertise, and sell the title however they please.
It's not copyright. They have a contract. EA has the rights to publish, advertise, and sell the title however they please.
the "however they please" part is most definitely wrong and the other stuff you or any of us couldn't possibly know, because we don't know what it says in the contracts EA has with Valve
Which game is displayed at 1:03? The woman drinking a drink while staring at the monster?
That would be The Secret World.

"You can't find ANYWHERE else!" Yup it's not possible to find those game sold anywhere else. Totally not on Steam or anything.
Most of the games it shows (multiple times) are published by EA, and by extension are Origin games.
EA may be the publisher of retail copies of L4D and Portal 2, but the games themselves are Steam games. You can't download, install or launch them on Origin. [editline]1st September 2012[/editline] Yet that is what is being implied by including them in this Origin Ad.
