saints row 4: the game that makes forums burst out into arguments whenever it is merely mentioned
Humor for 12 year olds.
The snippets they showed at E3 had more funnier/clever jokes than anything in SR3.
Is that.....Julius?
Like it could just be Keith David voicing another character in the series, but it even looks like Julius.
How are they....what.
Then again, they're bringing sr2 shaundi back, maybe that's how they bring gat back as well and also bring Julius back [sp]you know, before you killed him[/sp]

It's confirmed he's not Julius, he's Keith David.

No, thats actually Keith David voicing Keith David.
so it's a meta role?
Man this gets so much more confusing when you previously had him voice a former MAJOR CHARACTER in the series.
Julius was secretly Keith David's brother, obviously.
been playing the Saints Row series since 1, much longer than most people here have, and I think this looks very fun. The game has been ramping up in wacky since the first one, I just kinda see it as a natural progression now. It's going to be incredibly fun to play for sure.
I just don't know honestly. I think one of the trailers looked decent, but then I see more and more of the game and get confused. I absolutely loved SR1 and 2. Three was good but short and completely random. This one, I just don't know. I probably will end up buying it a long time down the road but, I don't feel like they are taking the series in the right direction.
"Hey kinzie, wanna fuck?"
Goddamn I wish that worked IRL
Uh actually it does sometimes.
Jackald do you have experience in this field?

I'm sure it'd work on someone like Kinzie. Let's not forget Kinzie spends so little time with people she literally forgot how to wash her hair. Plus the Boss got a solid punch to the face for asking.
Ah who am I kidding, I'll probably sex her up.

Yeah, just give it a try, Madda.
THQ were being assholes to more than just DLC. They ruined the original story of SRTT because they thought it would be too violent and depressing.
Originally Gat [sp]was supposed to die a hero's death and get stabbed over 10 times. We were supposed to see ALL of it.[/sp] THQ said no because apparently it was too dark.
On top of that, there was supposed to be a sub plot that explored Shaundi going through survivor's guilt after [sp]Gat's death.[/sp] Again, THQ said it was too dark and Volition had to cut it.
Also, Killbane was originally supposed to dirty bomb Stillwater and kill everyone in the entire city. That was to make fans of SR1 and SR2 hate Killbane that much more. Again, THQ said no because it was too dark.
Volition know how to merge whacky and dark shit, but THQ was holding them back. Hopefully Deep Silver is granting them more creative freedom and we'll see a very deep story.
I wonder what made them reject all of that after they seemed to be OK for the dark stuff in SR2? Like[sp]Carlos' death, Shogo's death, Aisha's death, etc.[/sp]

Probably their new direction, taking it away from a GTA-style crime drama. I'm glad they left [sp]Gat's death[/sp] ambiguous though, since [sp]he's apparently coming back in IV[/sp] and now they won't have to retcon the shit out of something that might actually have been really good. If Volition get the creative freedom they need with Deep Silver, IV's gonna blow 3 out of the water.
I don't get it, everyone ate Saint's Row the Third up. Why are half the people in this thread going "It's gonna be baaaaaaaad!"

because people dont bother to like, read anything in the actual thread
From what I've heard, Saints Row IV has a much more serious tone than The Third, but is still different from both it and 2.
I really wonder what they'll do with Saints Row V, will you still be in the dominatrix? Or will they get rid of all the powers, and if not how will they justify them? I'm really curious about that :v:
I miss games with a hint of subtlety.
I miss games with a hint of subtlety.
when did saints row ever have a hint of subtlety
First one?
It was more like GTA where the world around you was wacky but the story wasn't too completely out there, save for a few things.
You guys realize that they want to release games that aren't the exact same thing over and over right? How many games have you played with repetitive story lines? This is why that exists, because if they do something completely different, people can't help but complain.
I did think this was going to be an expansion at first glance though.
i am so angry saints row 4 isnt saints row 2 wtf is volition doing this series is dead to me

Second one, when compared to the third.
