Converted my SACD remaster, which is pretty damn good, to AAC. Find me better quality and I'll eat my hat. :)
Wow that is pretty good, gotta admit

Toxx claused.
Need to get the master recording so you'll actually do it.

It actually is the master recording. SACD is the highest quality you'll ever be able to get this record.
Youtube won't allow it anyway since they downsample the shit out of everything.

improved, but there's literally zero fullness on them drums.
Need to get the actual band play it right there in front of you so you'll do it.
phil retired, shame but he was actually causing damage to his health by being musically active.
Peter is still kicking and so are the rest so it's definitely possible to reunite. Doubt it would ever happen though. :(
Yeah, IIRC Phil can't play drums anymore :smith:
Drumming is to rock music as boxing is to sport if that makes sense.
Footballers don't sacrifice their health, neither do snooker players.
Yeah he slipped a disc or some shit
Footballers do sacrifice their health in some ways though
snooker players just get drunk all the time which is kind of sacrificing health I guess??
i think you're mistaking that for drunk darts players :v:
When/where exactly was the term "progressive rock" first used? Who coined this term?
It was first used I think to describe In the Court?
Prog existed before then obviously but it still had a lot of roots in psychedelic rock and thus the term wasn't coined
Also check this stuff out:

Great symphonic Italian rock from 1975

A lot of the prog shows on BBC 4 say it was first used for Whiter Shade Of Pale. Not sure how true it is, though

It's used retrospectively for Whiter Shade of Pale which was definitely the first prog song, but I don't think they used it to describe it at the time
Can't believe I haven't heard Alan Parson's Project -Tales of Mystery and Imagination before. Such a well produced album, it's a shame the other albums after that weren't really proggy. I Robot is still really good though.

APP is great, despite the albums getting more pop-ish as it goes on. Check out The Turn of a Friendly Card too. That is a particular favourite of mine.
Porcupine Tree on an "indefinite hiatus". 'Tis a sad day.

I think they kinda were anyway. But now it's official and I'm 100% taking it to heart. Haha.

Nah, this is sensationalism
he's saying literally exactly the same thing he's been saying for the last 3 years - "I'm focusing on my solo work now but PT will get back together I just don't know when but it will be soon"
I think after he scores a movie he'll do it, I seriously can't wait for him to score a movie though I reckon it will be super good

Is it bad that even if he scores the worst movie of all time I'd still go and see it/buy the DVD?
Has anyone checked out some Astra? Great Prog Rock from California

Wow, just found out that according to Robert Fripp, Nirvana's manager said King Crimson's Red was the CD found in Kurt Cobains CD player the night he killed himself. It's a possibility that "Starless" was Kurt Cobain's last song he ever heard before he shot himself.
That makes the song like 100x more chilling.
Not sure if that's true, but if it is that's pretty freaky to me.

well he did love the record, influenced him quite a bit apparently. Not sure it makes it "freaky" but it is a neat last song.
I'm delving into trying to find some noise-prog, and failing. But I found some nice stuff in the meantime:

Would you count Feedbacker as noise prog?
[editline]30th April 2013[/editline]
Or some of Les Rallizes Dénudés stuff, which verges on prog
don't try and make me listen to boris
Les Razilles isn't too bad, but not really prog enough but thank you for the suggestion

Was going to disagree and say he was listening to REM's Automatic for the People before he died, but that CD was in his stereo, not in his CD player.
