just listened to Steve Wilsons The Raven that Refused to sing. holy Jesus its one of the best albums I've ever heard
I have a craving to hear it again.
Raven had a reverse-prog effect on me.
On the first few listens it was absolutely brilliant, but after that it was just good.
Yeah its like that, it doesnt stand up as well to repeated listens

Rush have always been the pinnacle of live performances. Above any other band IMO, they STILL strive for perfection in execution. Now some people would disagree, because Rush never really mixes up or improvises. However they actually do, a lot of changes in their music live performances are just really subtle.

Jesus Christ, Guthrie's solo.
And just the general incredibleness of the performance.

heard that album only once and it's pretty damn good.
So I'm relistening to King Crimson's the Power to Believe and actually liking it quite a lot more this time.

Anyone have any eclectic prog recommendations? I really enjoy King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Van Der Graaf Generator, and Yezda Urfa.

Nothing is better when stoned to fuck
Makes me want to revive the short lived krautrock thread :(

I love that album as well and I even have it on vinyl, but Radio Sterne is way too experimental to be enjoyable.
I never knew Jon Anderson sang on part of Lizard by King Crimson. Thank you Youtube comments.
if anyone wants a band that really sounds like Gabriel era Genesis, look no further than this:
a real gem all prog fans need to have is the hour and a bit track "Keep that one, Nick" by King Crimson.
It's literally the bowels of how Larks' Tongues in Aspic was created, amazing...

I know I'm a few months late here, but can you give more information on this? I can't find much about it.

really is only for collectors but the remaster is DANG good. Only a few of the live ones are keepers and the demo stuff is nice.
