well to clarify it better:
when it comes to death grips, I personally don't care for their music, but I can't say it's bad necessarily. I was only pointing out how all of the fans I had seen/interacted with only seemed interested in superficial elements of the group as opposed to the music. I don't really have anything against the group itself (other than I find Zach Hill's marketing techniques irritating). When it comes to the Casualties, 90% of Fat Wreck's catalog, "melodic punk" etc, the problem is that they sully the original idea of punk (in the same way many UK82 bands did, as well as the Clash, etc) by turning the idea of individuality into a trend and making the music "catchy and stupid (in a way that isnt funny)" instead of artistic expression, expressing the same bored tired ideas over and over without doing anything about them, without expanding or truly explaining. The promote the idea of rebelling for the sake of rebelling instead of rebelling because YOU as an INDIVIDUAL want to see a change with something, not because you were told to or so you can feel better about yourself.

The music I've posted was in 1996, way before they signed (temporarily) to RCA, on an independent label. I mean, for fucks sake, they have songs all about bashing poseurs (see "Punk by the Book" or "Captain Anarchy").
But that isn't this is about, it's about your constant whining about what isn't and is punk. All you seem to care about is whether or not it falls under your strict definition of "punk", rather than the music itself, all in the name of showing how much better your taste is music is.
