when i lived in europe i played like shitty shows at our friends and their friends' houses in this like wacky hardcore band, our second drummer was german and really into bad religion and our bass player was transgender in america i played with a pretty bad post-punk band but weve played a couple of shows at a whole bunch of slightly famous places in the bay area i played guitar, drums, and bass for these bands and some varying bands between them
Hmm. I think the only "real" punk show I went to was The Casualties last month, it was fun as fuck going to a show for the first time and being able to enjoy live music.
yeah it is really fun haha, the first time i did it the more i wanted to do after that im addicted to that sensation of hearing really loud music, not something too many people share i have like an emotional response to super-loud noise for whatever reason
ugh. saw the casualties live and god it was a bore. every single opener for them blew 'em out of the water. all of their fans smelled like shit too [editline]28th April 2013[/editline] i love loud noise but i like to make it much more than i like to hear it. i love attention!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I haven't been to any I think its a situational thing in aus there's not many good punk bands that I can find I've been to some shows which were pretty punk in nature but not punk music
find house venues on facebook and go to every show

yeah lightning bolt are one of those bands that are infinitely better live than on record. not really punk but they're pretty diy and play with a very punkish energy and ferocity which is great. one of the best bands ever if you ask me. also related
give me some good punk to listen to pls
what kind do you want [editline]30th April 2013[/editline] here's (basically) my favorite punk album
just some good hardcore punk. i've been listening to minor threat and fugazi lately. i've already heard all of husker du's stuff haha [editline]29th April 2013[/editline] one of my favorite punk records is songs about fucking if that counts
six finger sattellite
fugazi isn't hardcore but okay... RKL - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-2mxxblgSI V/A - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Of3_Ok68XfI koro - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbzIqLrYgaM die kruzen - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JeXDIQEurc necros - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8nWieNnpN4 paintbox - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJ_K0kh0uvc brain tumors - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSZ50DzZ5mQ droop - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DzQJRlZB4pM [editline]30th April 2013[/editline] big black isnt hardcore either lol
yeah i know fugazi is post-hardcore i just wanted to give an indication of what i was listening to in terms of punk idk. thanks though i'm gonna listen to all those bands
well if you want hardcore let me know what hardcore bands you like, no post hardcore lol but yeah there ya go
i really don't know many hardcore bands beyond the stuff everyone knows like dead kennedys, husker du, bad brains etc which i enjoy a lot. mainly looking to expand my taste beyond that and your post is perfect for that so thx
if you ever want to expand into deep cuts i recommend this http://www.amazon.com/American-Hardcore-Second-Edition-History/dp/1932595899/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1367292172&sr=8-2&keywords=american+hardcore
oh damn i need to read that; thanks
cool deal bud
reppin ya boyz fun simple formulaic hardcore is the best and i'll fight anyone who says otherwise
god it sucks so fucking much would you fuck off with that bullshit
damn i really like die kreuzen and RKL
sad thing about die kreuzen is that EP is imo the only good material they ever put out. There's not much else out there like it, but you could find something if you dig deep enough into midwest hardcore (they are from my home state, Wisconsin). if youre into RKL i suggest looking into NoMeansNo (very technical) and Ill Repute (Nardcore). RKL was sorta part of Nardcore, a genre Ill Repute sorta pioneered. RKL are a bit of an oddity within the genre but its still a great genre. nomeansno: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAKWoeq-t3o http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpRx1Mj5jjQ ill repute: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZ9GyqL8eOs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfuTftuEKuE also, on an unrelated note: big boys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90U3tc5xDiI (one of the best black flag-style songs ever) the dicks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6y8Pk4aBzY one final note: here is RKL's best song/performance (it's not on their best of): [editline]1st May 2013[/editline] my dream is to find a drummer and bass player with enough balls to tackle that song [editline]1st May 2013[/editline] necros' conquest for death is the closest thing i can think of to the first die kruezen ep
