eh, your opinion guys :v: I think all that shit is pretty rad. folk-punk got me through some tough times so it holds a place in my heart, and I'll wear what I please and disregard anyone who says otherwise.
haven't ever gotten into folk punk really, but i love against me
well atleast their early stuff, the newer stuff sounds kinda bland
i dont trust any music that someone claims got them through rough times
I took two tabs of acid yesterday afternoon
Woke up this morning with a torn pair of shoes
Found i'd ruined my life and everyone else's too
I guess that's what my teachers warned me drugs would do
well I was meaning the more posi side of folk punk music :v: but once again guys, my opinion so whatever, right?
[QUOTE=Vedicardi;40837721]folk punk and acoustic punk are equally dumb and trendy bs[/QUOTE]

I think this is pretty great tbh. Not sure what Folk Punk you're talkin about
my dad was very much into hardcore, so i grew up listening to a lot of Dead Kennedys, GBH, X, Fear, Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Agent Orange, ect
he made two mixtapes back in the day that i listen to all the time, and he has 'Rodney on the ROQ vol 1' on vinyl

[url]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTBXYRRWxKo[/url]
dont know if it counts as punk, but its on R.O.T.R
do you think that the hives first album counts as hardcore punk? its fast and hard and i love it.

ALL folk punk.
[editline]30th May 2013[/editline]
yo bro no embedding.
rodney is pretty cool but best vinyl mix is hard. probably "let them eat jellybeans" from alternative tentacles.
[editline]30th May 2013[/editline]
"barely legal" is hardcore, I'd say, "garage punk" at the very least. i have it on vinyl (got it sealed!) B)
i'm writing a screenplay for a movie and i need some good hardcore punk
so far i've been planning on using bad brains, one dk song, and some stiff little fingers songs. but i don't listen to this genre much anymore, can anyone help me out?

fixd my post
i really wish i had the barely legal on vinyl. what i really need to do is digitize my dad's punk vol 1 and 2 tapes and R.O.T.R before that shit deteriorates any further. 25 years of consistent play isn't doing the sound quality any favors.
also i have beach blvd on vinyl, posh boy records first release, but i haven't really listened to it the whole way through.
[img]http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51eRjwQkF8L._SY300_.jpg[/img]
also, many of my friends are very into folk punk, screamo and powerviolence, but i haven't taken a real good listen yet. I have been assigned to listen to a couple of Matsuri my one of said friends.

husker du's first two records, neos, minor threat, big boys, teen idles, black flag, etc. be more specific and I can find you just about anything. "driving punk," pure thrash, funky punk, dance-y punk, melodic sing along punk, whatever. make up a genre and i'll find something that fits
my friends are divided into ska, screamo, and rap
i subscribe the most to rap
probably for the best
[editline]31st May 2013[/editline]

*nods head*
I'm liking Circle Jerk's 'Group Sex' which of their albums should I listen to next?
that's literally their only good album (tho some people like "wild in the streets") just get their live record (gig) and that's really all you need. "Golden shower of hits" has some amusing songs on it as well. otherwise the rest of it is pretty much shit (ie VI and Wonderful have like 1 good song per record). I'd say just listen to the adolescents instead. they are a better "version" of the circle jerks imo
[editline]31st May 2013[/editline]
there are a lot of better bands than the circle jerks is what im trying to say. the freeze's "Rabid Reaction" and "Land of the Lost" are deff worth checking out as well. imo those bands (the freeze, adolescents) do that sort of early "melodic" punk much better than the circle jerks. "i just want some skank" "beverly hills" and "back against the wall" are like some of the worst songs ever written imo lol
[editline]31st May 2013[/editline]
or try the first replacements records ("Sorry Ma" and "Stink")
[editline]31st May 2013[/editline]
OKAY MIXING UP THE RULES YOU ARE ALLOWED ONE EMBEDDED VIDEO PER PAGE USE IT WISELY DUMMIES!
[editline]31st May 2013[/editline]
my favorite song by the freeze (early version i believe)

??? drinking milk ???
(they're all militant vegans)
My scramz friends (there's 2) partake in the flesh of bird
I've seen them eat chicken quesadillas before at least
changing your lifestyle to vegan because of music is unbelievably stupid.

Off of the top of my head...
Negative approach - cant tell no one, lead song
Feederz - Jesus
Johnny thunders - Chinese rocks
Bad brains - at the Atlantis
Naked raygun - basically any song from the "basement screams" ep
Nomeansno - the tower, it's catching up
DKs - police truck
Reagan youth - are you happy
Sham69 - borstal breakout
Wipers - youth of america
Wire - pink flag (the song)
Pretty big variety there. If you can't find something you like I most certainly misunderstood you. Also I'm on my phone so if some could get yet links to those songs up It would be appresh
omg youth of america
"nothing" is another good NA tune
best riff
No
