I'd recommend getting slightly heavier BB's, but other than that it looks fine.
You sure you want 30 round mags in airsoft?
Unless its sSSSUPER REALISTIC MILSIM - get midcaps.

I'm one for realism in my games, so yes I'm sure. Thanks.
If you insist. Also for BBs, get a small bag of .20s, .23s, and .25s, see which you like and which does best with that gun.
TM VSR-10 or Maruzen APS2?
Called Airsplat, they say they have Glock 23 mags so I may not get the Sig 226, rather just new Glock mags, a couple of Thunder-B's (Two spoon kits and a bunch of shells) and a Blackhawk SERPA for it.
Should I order from Airsplat?
Would .28s or .25s be better in an AEG? I used some .28s in my TSD tri-shot shotty and it was pretty good.

.25's. .28's are beginning to get too heavy.

If you must.

It's dangerous, but I've had 1 of my three orders from them be successful.
Good luck, comrade.
Now if only I knew where to get Norwegian camo I would buy that gun right now.
Okay, I appreciate the heads up on my last post, only wish the outlook was better.
Now, on a completely different note: my younger brother is/was interested in Airsoft'ing but recently played a game of woodsball(?), so he's kind of hung up on paintballing's dick. My parents are figuring it's a good way for him to get out and actually get some worth-while exercise, however, they (and frankly, neither do I) know all of the angles to which choice would be the better route; airsoft or paintball. I personally am fond of what airsoft has to bring to the table (1:1 scale weapons, tactical conditions, ect), so of course I'm pushing for him to get into airsoft. My main concern with airsoft is the infrequency of players/venues in which to play, whilst paintball is actually a club at some of our schools. So, I am calling on you, my dear friends, what advice do you have to offer?
tl;dr Parents and I are trying to figure out if we should get my brother involved in air soft or paintball. I say airsoft. Need to take into consideration: cost, frequency of play, convience, ect. Brother is a 14y.o. punk-ass kid, likes to be tacticool. Your thoughts?

This I realise, the question remains, how to obtain these materials?
Airsoft is ultimately cheaper. Start up cost is about $200 (G&G Combat Machine, Ammunition, Eyewear, Battery)
As for places and people to play with, I have the same problem, a lot of people do. If all else fails you try and get your friends into it and play on our own property. But try and find a field or something close to you.
-snip-
BBs are a thousand times cheaper than paintballs, AEGs don't need CO2, the guns don't look like super soakers, etc.

If you don't need to carry much they're alright. I used to use one years ago, mainly just kept my primary and secondary mags on it and a hydration pouch on the back. If you need to carry tools or other special items with you, I'd look for a vest with more room for mounting stuff.
I don't even use a hydration carrier. I hate to say it, but most games at my field are speed ball and never last more then twenty minutes so I can just grab a drink or if I desperately need it throw a water bottle in my utility leg pouch. Other then that I carry four hicaps, an extra pistol bag, dump pouch and utility pouch. Something like that rig would work for me, but it's not my style.
Speaking of which; I have a question. Which helmet would look good with my loadout?
IBH

MICH 2002
[img_thumb]http://combatgearing.com/images/helmet/helmet/HT-HT-03-OD.jpg[/img_thumb]

If so, tan or OD? OD is more appropriate for my area but I don't know if it matches ACU and all.
Not a fan of that helmet myself, looks weird on the people I have seen with them. Best bet might be a MICH 2002.
As for the color, man that's a tough one. I think the best thing to do is spray paint it a sort of ranger green or gray. Maybe start out with tan as the base color and lightly paint over that with darker greens, grays, browns, and so on. That's what I've done with my helmets to give them that darker, used look.
They look pretty cool if you desperately need that space for a headset. If not, don't.
Gray may be a good color to spray it, a light gray/foliage green like color or something close to PCU's color scheme.
Yeah that's what I was thinking.
Oh as for the names of the 2 helmets you have listed, the first one isn't a MICH 2001, something else. This would be a MICH 2001

Your right, that's a LWH, the Mich 2001 is pretty close though. Would you recommend a MICH 2001?
[editline]27th November 2010[/editline]
I also have a Replica PASGT and a Real PASGT I could try to spray paint on of those Foliage green. Would Wal-Mart carry Foliage Green Spraypaint? I mean, honestly I found ACU duct tape there so.. maybe.
Also I saw someone make like a cool black net design over their PASGT. How would I do that? Paint a net black, lay it over the helmet and take it off?
Yeah that's what I was thinking.

If you scroll down so the helmet is covered but the rest of the face is showing, the straps make him look like Abe Lincoln.
Holy shitballs I need sleep

I use a MICH 2001 and it works well for me. Lighter than the MICH 2000, but mine needs a new chin strap, the one they give you sucks honestly. But once I toss on the ironface and goggles it's pretty secure, doesn't move around.
Walmart might have something close, but I doubt it. Check hardware stores and anywhere else that sells paint. Just make sure it's a matte or flat color, last thing you want is a shiny looking helmet.
As for the netting effect, I think you would take a black helmet, secure the netting over it tightly, then spray paint the whole helmet tan, green, etc. Then when you remove the netting you should see black where ever the netting was laying, giving it the pattern.
Thanks for the tips, I think I'm going to paint one my PASGTs and see how it turns out before I go upgrade.
