That W700 is bloody ugly, and don't get me wrong, I love green. It's just a damn mutant.
And don't get a sniper, unless you feel like putting shitload of money in upgrades to make it worth it.

500+ fps? Overkill, no?
Yeah but with .20s which no sniper ever actually uses. Most use at least .30s.
[QUOTE=RenegadeSanta;26936054]Yeah but with .20s which no sniper ever actually uses. Most use at least .30s.[/QUOTE]
That's still over 500 fps, remember, the fps is calculated using .20, with .30, it will still give the same energy.
The heavier the BB, the lower the FPS. They calculated 500 FPS with .20s, but again, no sniper uses .20s. A .30 would lower it probably in the 400 range, maybe even less. A super heavy BB like a .38 would put it in the 300s. Muzzle energy and FPS are not the same thing.
[editline]24th December 2010[/editline]
The gun will use the same amount of energy to propel the BB no matter what. But if it's heavier, it won't be propelled out with as much velocity.

Everywhere in the world makes you chrono with .20s.

Rules are set with .20g. If a field says the limit is 450 fps for snipers, and you use .30 and it gives you 380, you won't be legit.
Learn to airsoft.
I'm just responding to when you said that 500FPS is overkill (which it is) that most snipers never actually use .20s. I never said anything about field rules.
[QUOTE=RenegadeSanta;26936632]I'm just responding to when you said that 500FPS is overkill (which it is) that most snipers never actually use .20s. I never said anything about field rules.[/QUOTE]
Then what was your point?
[QUOTE=RenegadeSanta;26936632]I'm just responding to when you said that 500FPS is overkill (which it is) that most snipers never actually use .20s. I never said anything about field rules.[/QUOTE]
Do you really think I thought sniper used .20? Dear god, after 4 years, and having it as a job, I think I know the jazz it's about. A
And 500+ fps, with .20, is overkill even if you use .45g.
My point was that snipers rarely if ever use .20s because of their lack of stability over long distances, and that if they were to use .30s or above, which they probably would, the FPS would be lower.
[editline]24th December 2010[/editline]
Also how would that work if the limit was say, 450 with .20s? and their gun shot, say, 430. Would they have to use .20s?
[editline]24th December 2010[/editline]
I've never really sniped so I don't really know the practical application of velocity rules.
[editline]24th December 2010[/editline]
And no, I didn't think you thought snipers used .20s. Everyone can see you're not stupid.

You can use whatever bbs you want, just as long as it chronos legally with .20s.
Fields here have a 550 FPS limit on bolt actions with a 125 foot MED, so you could use that in Ohio, so long as you get the fuck away.

Damn it, the .20 are used to chronograph, as a standard rule set.
If you shoot 449 with .20, you can use any BB's. If you shoot 449 with .45, you're not legit and you are sent back home.
And facing the law, here in Cannuck land, 507 fps with .20 is the max fps a rifle can shoot before being considered a firearm.
I saw this video on youtube where this guy showed you how to make a KJW Ruger shoot 700 FPS. I was like
