No, you put silicone oil on top of the propane canister. Two drop on each 6-8 fill.
As for the propane adapter, I'm pretty much liking the AI one.

I have the bright green propane adapter. That works just as fine. Metal ones can damage the magazines if you're not careful, bang up the port or what not, where as plastic adapters will yield before they do any damage.
AI one are great, if they break, they aren't expensive. Plus that duster adapter can be used as replacement if the upper one on the propane adapter bends.

It's up to you, the quality of it may be or may be not cheap. As I've never heard of it before, I can't really say if it's good or not.
Though, the AI one comes with oil too, but it's 27$ instead of 14$. But with the AI you're sure to get known and quality stuff.

I guess it adds more maintenance to it, and you'd have to make sure you have the proper amount of oil in the propane nozzle.
I'd rather run GG through it, but ffs it's so expensive and shit
I'll probably end up just running propane through it, hopefully it doesn't fuck up my o-rings or anything
All my friends with KJW GBBR's use propane without problems.
With a propane adapter you can easily increase the ratio of silicone oil to gas if you're really worried about reliability. The only real downside is the odor - I find it simply unmanageable on full-auto unless firing outdoors and changing position frequently.
I don't mind the smell of propane, you get used to it.
