What kind of battery should I get for the CYMA M14?
Generally standard pack batterys or also known as bricks/mini-bricks. I think you can fit a mini 9.6v in it
Okay, thats what I thought.
Anyone have a guide on brands?
If you go back a bit there are threads where me and others discuss brands.
But generally
Top Tier
Tokyo Marui
Classic Army
G&G
G&P
VFC
Many others i cant remember
Ares
ICS
Middle
WE
Echo 1
Airsoft GI Custom
Cyma 40 series
Dboys Full Steel series
Classic Army Sportline
G&G Sportline
TSD (Rebrand SRC/UTG which arn't that bad just expensive sometimes)
UTG (Makes nice shotguns, They are cheap but nice preformence for CQB and p much throwaways so they deserve to be in middle)
Lower
JG
Dboys Regular
Cyma before 40 series (30's where good but no where near there 40's)
Cybergun
You left out TSD, UTG, ICS, and Ares. Only ones I can think you left out right now.
done
Thanks, I just wanted that so I could know which brands would be a good idea to shop from.
JG isn't so bad, I'd say they were lower middle. They make good beginner guns.
What about Real Sword?
What about Real Sword?
Top of the fucking line from what I've heard.
I've been looking at the Dboys 74u and Scar-L. Both are full metal and have great reviews, and apparently are fairly durable. My friend keeps telling me to get a G&G, but the only ones I can get are the Sportsline, and they don't come with batteries.

Same here, they just made an AEG SVD, first ever, apparently. Do fucking want.
Also, anyone know where I can find a woodland IBA?

Like, is that just a cover or what? I can't find a woodland old-school one like this, not one of the new-fangled MOLLE shit up to the neck and all over the back.

DBoys makes spectacular guns, and in my opinion the DBoys SCAR is one of the hidden gems of airsoft. G&G makes amazing guns too, so it's up to you if you want metal or really really really nice polymer.

I love my Dboy's AK-74 a ton. My friend has a G&G M4 type thing and it is having motor problems. Although when it was working it was a great gun.

It's not brand new, but it's their newest one. CA copied it and sells it for about the same price. I would go with RS personally.
By RS I thought you meant real steel for a second there :geno:
I have a Kalash AKS-74 and I had some problems with them feeding Mag AK-74 midcaps. They always worked fine before until today. They will shoot four bbs and then stop shooting all together. They fit in fine, and they've worked up until now. Any ideas what it might be? I got bets on the mag spring not being strong enough. Thanks for you help.
I got my automerge broken twice...
Brands here
You forgot KWA, which is pretty much the best brand for out of the box performance.
Well, just so I have options, I want to check another gun I could buy. I'm not buying from Evike, don't worry, but what is your opinion on this gun: http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?products_id=28595
I have that gun and it's pretty sturdy overall. If you do get it I'd play on upgrading hopup, barrel, and probably down grading the spring.
Still considering alternatives for the TAR 21.
I'm pretty sure I'd get a M249 Echo 1, but I also figure I can actually get two guns if the other is fairly cheap for just about the same price. For example,a Combat Machine. That way I have a mixture, I have a big, bad ass gun I could use amongst a team and I've always had this thing for them and I have a decent, stock, regulation M4.
It's either that or a A&K LR-300. I considered a new pistol but mine is fine and I can't seem to find the right one, they're either sold out or things I need for them are not on the market anymore.

Or I buy a riot shield and some spare bits and pieces I need.
I have a nice AEG already, and I want to get into sniping. Just a nice little $100-140 spring sniper to start off. Suggestions? I was looking at these:
http://www.airsplat.com/Items/AR-WELL-MB03-L.htm
http://www.airsplat.com/Items/AR-UTG-M324S.htm
or the Echo 1 ASR.
inb4 AirSplat hate, they're fine for me once i wade through all the LPAEG shit.
also just FYI JG is one of the OEM's for E1.
oh and for the ASR there's like 2 OEM versions on AirSplat and evike, they're like $30 cheaper but Echo 1 does better QC and has a warranty, is that worth the extra money?

No, don't start cheap with sniping. Get a JG BAR 10 and upgrade from there. No, airsplat is not fine for you and not fine for anyone. Buy from AirsoftGi if at all possible. Yes, we know that Echo 1 rebrands JG.
I'd go with a BAR 10. Had one and it was the greatest spring bolt action I ever used (this includes UTG M324, UTG MK96 and clones, Super 9 lol).
The UTG M324 is a big shiny piece of shit. Horrible accuracy, looks crappy, filled with pot metal weights. It just sucks.

Echo 1 has no quality control and the customer support for them sucks, so good luck getting that warranty.
Hey guys, is this difference in length for old/new spring okay?
[IMG_THUMB]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6092109/100_0118.JPG[/IMG_THUMB]
Top spring is the old one, new is the bottom.
For the BAR-10 do i go regular or G-SPEC? Because it looks like the G-SPEC just has a shorter barrel and mock silencer. Also the WELL MB03 seems fine. Why all the AirSplat hate? I've never had a problem with them.

AirsoftGI and JG Bar 10.
Don't go with any of the L96 models. They're not comfortable, somewhat heavy, inaccurate, and the FPS tends to be over 400fps limit of some fields.
So BAR-10 seems to be the consensus here? and my question of regular or G-SPEC still stands. Is it just the mock suppressor or what?

G Spec has a slightly longer barrel and it's not made any more.
