I just got back from helping one of my buddies move some furniture around and we found his old CQB Master Hi-capa pistol. Since he doesn't really play airsoft anymore, he let me take the entire package he picked up from Evike (soft-shell case with space for six mags, the pistol itself, and two magazines).
Now, the bad. The gun, when filled up with gas, simply spews it all out when you rack the slide and pull the trigger. I've got no idea what causes it - I've used the working mag that came with it and I've used one of mine that I know is working just fine, both of them just spew the gas out the barrel. Anyone know what's wrong and how to fix?

Its pretty sketchy as is. I'll talk to my parents and sleep on it to. $70 for a JG M16A1 and a battery and mags. idk about a charger or how many mags.
This would also be my first airsoft gun. (other than a springer) and probably the last one i buy for a while, paying for college and what not.
He wants to do the honor system and is willing to give me his phone number AND send the package first. Now i just gotta figure out if i really want it.

Just checked the O-ring, it's fine. I called my friend and he told me that a part related to the hammer striking and releasing gas for each shot is stuck. I'm trying to get it fixed, but he also did mention that this was a problem with this version of the CQB Master and that Evike might be able to fix it for free.

He's willing to send the package before you pay for it?
In that case, go for it. Test fire it, and if something isn't right, send it back. I had a JG M16 before and it was pretty nice, $70 for the gun alone is a pretty good deal.

Ah, cause I have a $100. I'm saving up to buy all the gear I've been asking about. If I get more money, I buy the G&G M16a3, if not as much, the UMP. What are the Pros and Cons of each?
Well if you're doing field, I'd stick with the G&G M16A3.

Oh, more than likely. UMP is CQB, and M16 is field.
Ok, now I understand. The problem I have is that all the stuff I'm buying with the M16 puts me up in the $500 zone. I can't do that, I will be able to get $300. So I'm, trying to look at a cheaper, reliable option. Any ideas? For field games, I'd like it to be reliable, last a while, and around $180ish, Maybe a G&G Combat Machine m4? Could you use an m4 for Field games?
Does anyone make an M16 A4? I see A1-3 everywhere but not so much A4.

Exactly my dilemma. I'm about to move on to M14s. The CYMA one looks perfect for me.
I can settle for an A3, it's slicker looking but the A4 is so much more practical what with the burst mode and rails. I suppose I could buy new hand guards and put a mosfet unit in but that's a lot of effort and money already.
Yeah, it'd be a lot easier and cheaper for all of us if they would make one already.
G&G M4 would be great for field use.
Oh, ok, to be honest, compared to the M16, the M4 looks like a toy to me. That's why I'm so iffy on buying it.
I hate M4's with LE style and adjustable stocks. They're dumb looking and I always thought they were flimsy and I was afraid of them snapping forward (I use them on the farthest setting)
Full stock or bust. It's really practical in Airsoft too, more battery space and easier access.
That's not really what bothers me. I could buy one, they just seem too small to be an actual weapon.
Meh, started with full stocks and switched to adjustable stocks. Just get some buffer tube lipo batteries and you can easily maintain the nice clean look to it. I can't use full stocks very well using a plate carrier. Even with my collapsible stocks I only extend it one or 2 spaces.
As for a true M16A4 you're going to have to build one up. I'd search around the chinese online stores such EBB or RSOV for the A4 RAS handguard. You should be able to get one for under $100. The 3rd mosfet will be needed too, as no one produces a M16A4 with burst out of the box, except perhaps a Systema PTW.
Or buy a WE M16 and buy RA Techs 3 round burst kit for it.
Nevermind, I got over my insecurity, and I'm getting a G&G GR16 Plastic. Last two questions, I promise :)

The G&G will take just about every mag out there. I've used CA's, MAG, TM, clone, and PMAGs with no problems.
As for the red dot, I will tell you right now it's going to sit too low and you will have a hard time seeing through it without a rail riser or higher scope rings. Can't tell you anything about the quality of the optic itself, but for the price don't expect much at all.
Yeah, I just want a cheap RedDot that I could substitute sometimes. I like Iron sights, just wanted something to switch it up every now and then.
