The mechanical blowback on the CA ABS series is quite reliable. No broken parts on mine, except the recoil spring snapping twice early on, but even then it was easily fixed by stretching it and reattaching it to the bolt. This was most likely due to using a 11.1v lipo battery on full auto. Other than that, it's been working fine for almost a year, even on full auto recently with no further spring snaps.
It's one of the few EBB's that gives a slight kick to the gun. The thing you and others will notice the most is the loud metallic clack sound it makes everytime you shoot it.
No I meant that mechanical blowback hardly does anything other than make a badass sound and vibrate the gun a little bit.
I almost just want to get a KWA.
The KWA's are great rifles. Just about everyone around here who's owned one swears by them.
Yeah, I've looked at both and fired both, it's a tough decision.

Fuck it, I'll get the CA. I don't need my gun to shoot at 30BPS. Plus the CA has the trades and the bolt lock will be fun to play with. Can the X-series even take a lipo?
When I finally get around to putting my Australian loadout together the vest I'm planning on getting only holds 4 mags because it's a SAW gunner vest, not a rifleman vest. So if I have five 170 round midcaps (4 in the vest, 1 in the gun) and maybe a high cap in one of the SAW mag pouches just in case I need it should that be enough ammo?

Honestly most guns can takes lipo's just fine. Haven't broken a single one of my guns just because I used a lipo, and most of my guns are stock. Just don't hold the trigger down for insane periods of time.
What exactly is the point of a li-po?
Mainly their size and weight. They're much smaller and lighter than the old NiMH and NiCD batteries, allowing you to store them in tighter spaces. They don't weigh nearly as much, making your gun lighter. Most of all they offer higher voltage in a small package. This results in better trigger response and ROF.
Not to mention puncture one and throw it... instant smoke grenade
/joke
Does the new X series still have CA's crap internals?
Sorry if I seem like a noob, I'm just getting back into it after over 2 years.
God dammit.

I've read reviews for all of them, fired all of them, and I'm split. I haven't had the chance to open up any of them, so internals are what's going to decide it.
I bought a "Winchester Super Sling"... How the fuck do I put it on?
If you want looks, get the VFC. If you want performance get the KWA. If you're stuck in the past get the CA. No, I kid. The KWA does, however, perform better than the CA out of the box, and it's mechbox is a freaking tank. I love mine. I've heard good things about CA, seen nice CA guns, but I don't own any so I cant say anything. VFC is also nice, but not quite on the same performance tier as the other two, which is (somewhat) compensated for by amazing externals.
Alright I have decided on an M14 for my next purchase.
I have come down to two M14's on GI and I was wondering what your opinions on them are.

I was wondering if the G&G would be a good choice because I would think it would come better stock and would need less upgrades. But I like the cost effectiveness of the first one with a little extra cash to buy a tightbore off the bat and some mags.
[editline]03:21AM[/editline]
Also, just wondering but do both of them have functioning bolts? It's not necessary but would be a nice feature. (I think only the G&G does?)
The G&G is much better. Stock it is an awesome gun. And yes the bolt functions and sounds awesome.
By functioning do you mean pull them back and they go CAH-CHUNK or that it loads a bb?
I don't really care about looks, although KWA's trades are ugly. The externals of all of them are awesome. I don't care about realism either, and although bolt lock is more of a practical thing, it's not a huge deal.
I'm leaning towards either the KWA or the CA. The CA is cheaper and you get the awesome externals, plus greater mag compatibility.
The KWA is a bit pricier but it's built for LiPos, and the ROF is some crazy shit like 30BPS. The CA on a lipo is like 20, which is still insane.
Like I said, I haven't gotten the chance to crack open any of them. It all comes down to how durable/well-made the gearbox is.
[editline]09:49PM[/editline]
I'll just get the KWA. I'll have to wait a while to get a LiPo though.
Good choice on the KWA. Also, that mag thing is mostly BS- the only magazine I've ever had not fit in my gun was an ARMY SA80 Highcap, which I still haven't found a gun aside from the one it came from that it will fit in. I've used CA highcaps, MAG mids, KWA mids, and a couple G&G mids, I think (they weren't mine)

Both have functioning bolts. But I prefer G&G's design for the hop-up. To reveal the hop-up dial, you pull the bolt back and adjust the dial hidden under the bolt. On the TM/CYMA M14 designs, the hop-up dial is inside of the front of the magwell, making it impossible to fire and adjust the hop-up at the same time. Plus I feel G&G's make a better CA-CHUNK sound.
I also know the G&G will fit a 9.6v battery with some effort. Not sure if the CYMA can or not.
G&G's hop-up is the same as an AUG, so its really easy to use and you can be very precise with it.
This vest is meant to be worn over a flak vest. Should I be fine without a flak vest?
http://www.kitbag.com.au/prod327.htm
I'm asking because I think for my Australian loadout I might go for an Afghanistan look where they have woodland Auscam BDUs and desert Auscam MOLLE gear and flak vests.
It doesn't look like it has padding such as those as you would find with a plate carrier. In this case you're not going to be fine without some sort of armor under it to maintain it's shape.
Is TSD any good?
Their spring M1014 is friggin awesome of course. I've had one of their AEG's, and the gearbox was good/decent, just needed a better body.
So their M16a4? I can't find any reviews, but it's about the perfect price, too.
Should be alright. Wobbly handguards, but isn't that the norm for plastic-bodied M16's?
Yeah, Gi doesn't have it all of a sudden, so I'm going to get a ICS Sportline.
I can't afford a Large Battery, can this connect a mini to an M16's larger connector? http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=589
Yup
Thanks. :)
Or I could get the WE GBB SCAR. The main problem there is that I have to buy a bunch of $40 30 round mags for it, but it's SO DAMN COOL
